Hillary Clinton and "Men Are Scum"
"Men are scum". That has been the mantra of my radical feminist, younger daughter.
D: "Men ARE scum." (Editor's note: I TOLD her to stop hacking into this blog and saying that!!!--see previous entries, such as the multiple "Drew Peterson and the Evil Media" conversations with my mother).
Anyway (disregarding the interruption). The media, and some political "experts", are now suggesting that this sentiment explains why the polls were WRONG in New Hampshire (see yesterday's "Flying, Fickle Finger of Fate" award). Women saw Hillary Clinton CRY, and suddently realized that she was a WOMAN that they sympathized with, running against MEN--the "sucm".
All of this is a prelude to again exposing MY SHAME to the world. Yes, I raised a radical feminist (maybe TWO). Here is an actual IM conversation with my younger daughter, Kyla (NOT fictional, but absolutely real):
Skip3366: I have restated (my never withdrawn) statement that Hillary Clinton WILL WIN the Democratic nomination. I don't think that there is any doubt now.
Kyla778: Well, looks like the Obama craze was a fluke.
Kyla778: maybe women came to their senses and decided black men were not going to win this one over them this time
Skip3366: Unfortunaely, Romney MAY get knocked out by Huckabee and McCain ganging up on him, which may yet lead to my NIGHTMARE race of Clinton vs. McCain.
Kyla778: well, it may be a nightmare in that you don't like either
Kyla778: however, McCain may be the most viable candidate against Hillary
Kyla778: but then didn't you say youd' vote for Hillary if it was McCain
Skip3366: It is still looking to me like NO Republican will win a majority before the convention, which would at least be interesting.
Skip3366: MANY "pundits" are NOW touting this possibility. I said it FIRST.
Kyla778: In the primaries, seems like democrats are turning out in much larger numbers; isn't that bad news for you in terms of the national election
Kyla778: This will probably be the first year I will go and vote. For Hillary, hopefully. For Obama if something happens.
Skip3366: This "turn out" stuff is media HYPE. Once the general election happens, you can toss all of the nomination stuff out. Especially if Hillary is the nominee, almost HALF of the country HATES her--guaranteeing a fairly close race for that reason alone.
Kyla778: well, I feel like women are really going to turn out for her.
Kyla778: even older women, maybe even older women republicans who secretly hate their life and their husbands
Skip3366: The "men are scum" crowd (YOU, in other words) are being given credit for this POLL debacle in New Hampshire. Basically, the media is trying to excuse themselves (for being STUPID and relying totally on polls for their "coverage") by suggesting that women sawmen making Hillary "cry", and decided to turn out against a scum sucking MAN.
Editor's note: You will note my usual incisive analysis, while Kyla basically is voting for hillary Clinton because she is a WOMAN.
D: "Men are sc.."----Kyla, I told you to STOP DOING THAT.

Kenda can tell you I was actually starting to lean more toward Obama, and will gladly vote for him should he get the nomination. It is a strange phenomenon, however; on the Democratic side, one view of it is that it's oppressed minorities fighting against each other--the woman versus the black male. Hence my theory that women in NH may have been awaken by the idea that Hillary may actually drop out of the race should she continue to lose to Obama. I hear all these news reports saying African Americans are still leaning toward Hillary because they are convinced she's the one who can actually win, even as they'd rather vote for Obama. These days I too may rather vote for Obama, and if he got the nomination, I think he would win, but primaries are not looking good anymore. In the end, I do think he may be the better president--Hillary still seems too puppet-like. Anyway, to clarify, I would vote for Hillary becuase I'm a liberal and she will likely be the democratic candidate, and yes, because I would like to see a woman be president in my lifetime, becuase I am a woman and it may make my life easier. Same reason the black population would like to see Obama get it.
Try to avoid simplifying my arguments with selected excerpts from our conversations and the tag line "men are scum"--I swear, you are almost as bad as the media (OOoooooH).

Women just tend to think badly of me. I can't imagine why.
I am still right. Obama now has no chance (absent--further--major Clinton mistakes). He just has no time to gain momentum between now and Super Tuesday, and the feminist vote is going to DO HIM IN on Super Tuesday (along with the establishment vote, and the national presence that Hillary has).
Obama remains objectively unqualified to be President (no experience--MUCH less than JFK had). Hillary Clinton remains barely qualified herself (absent Bill). Her MAJOR "qualification/experience is as FIRST LADY--where she really had little policy input except for ther health care DISASTER.
Old saying: If you are going to go after the king, you must kill him; if you are going to beat the champ, you must knock him out.
In the Democratic Party, the Clintons are king and queen. Obama MIGHT have been able to deliver a knock out blow in New Hampshire. He FAILED. It will be fatal.
