Rush Limbaugh and Me
Last week constituted Rush Limbaugh's admission that I was right and he was wrong (whether he realizes it or not--that is, whether he realizes I exist or not).
This last week, Rush Lmbaugh really took out after McCain (and Huckabee). This was AFTER LImbaugh helped make both Huckabee and McCain possible (as serioius candidates for the nomination) by playing HAMLET before Iowa, and even right up to New Hampshire. "To take a position, or not to take a postion, that is the game Limbaugh was playing (purporting to be "neutral" in the GOP nomination).
As I (correctly) said, it was STUPID (one of the few times I can accurately call Limbaugh stupid) to take a position in the general election (as both Limbaugh and Hannity ALREADY HAVE), while pretending that conservatives have no stake in the primay.
As I correctly said, it is MORE important to conservatives who is nominated by the Repubican Party, because that is the party where conservatives have influence. If they can't get a LEADER to advance conservatism there, the conservative cause is in real trouble.
Limbaugh has come around to that view. This last week, he has taken the position that a McCain nomination will DESTROY the Republican Party (and, by implication, SEVERELY damate the conservative cause). He takes the same position on Huckabee (I am a little less against Huckabee, although he is clearly no conservative on non-social issues).
IS IT TOO LATE? : McCain has won South Carolina, with Huckabee second (even though Romney won Nevada). It is CLEAR that Fred Thompson is out of it, in terms of actually winning the nomination. You are IN DENAIL if you deny that.
That leaves ONLLY Romney (as this blog as said), standing between conservatives and disaster.
Limbaugh might have PREVENTED this, if he had not played Hamlet so long. As it is, McCain is exposing that the "emperor" (Limbaugh) has no clothes (real inflence), when the emperor FAILS to act decisively and timely.
