Hillary Clinton: Victim
Hillary Clinton LOVES to "play" the victim--to play the "woman" card--even as she claims the allegiance of femists everywhere. Further, it is one of history's IRONIES that Hillary Clinton go where she is BECAUSE OF HER HUSBAND--not through her own efforts.
However, (continuing his series on SMEARS of people I don't support), Chris Matthews went OVER THE LINE by saying that Hillary Clinton became Senator from New York, and a Presidential candidate, solely BECAUSE HER HUSBAND MESSED AROUND.
I don't think that is true. Hillary Clinton got where she is today BECAUSE SHE WAS FRIST LADY (which does NOT represent experience of HER OWN to be President). However, it is over the top to say that most of the people voting for her are only doing so because of SYMPATHY for her husbaznd cheating on her.
Yes, I KNOW Rush Limbaugh did a RANT on Friday on the TRUTH of what Chris Matthews said. Rush Limbaugh is WRONG (another example of why my accuracy rating is 99.1%, while his is 98.1%--down recently). There may be SOME women who vote for Hillary Clinton because she is a vicimized wife. But that is clearly a MINOR FACTOR. It is her status as a FEMINIST ICON (which she would have, even if her husband had been faithful) that matters. That status came from her time as FIRST LADY.
I am second to no one in criticizing the CYNICISM of Hillary Clinton trying to appeal to women to vote for her AS A WOMAN, while claiming to want to eliminate a person's sex as a factor in voting for President (this is a cynicism/intellectual dishonesty in radical feminism in general). The idea that beng FIRST LADY is "experience" to be President in your own right is another irony/falsehood.
But the idea that Hillary Clinton got where she is today because Bill cheated on her is ridiculous.

I agree with this. I in fact had not even thought about that whole Lewinksy et. al. debacle since this election process started. And to say that assumes that all women identify with a woman who is the 'victim' of a cheating husband. That's not necessarily true even if Bill's affair were in our consciousness during this election, which I do not think it is; some of us are the cheaters, after all. Some of us are the women that the husband cheats with. Some of us are not married, have never been married, don't want to be married, etc., and so just don't really care about those issues.
I certainly could do without Hillary acting like a "victim," playing the "woman card," or asserting herself as a former president's wife. But beggars can't be choosers.
