Leftist Thnking: Another Imported Comment
I often import comments, especially under AOL featured "news". You will note a lack of comments on this blog (although I really do invite them). Therefore, I occasionally import a comment (with, of course, my take on it). Following is a comment from a leftist who often posts on AOL, posted under the story where Senate Democrats are yet again trying to CRIMINALIZE the question of waterboarding. This shows you the intended audience for that Democratic effort to divide us. The post appeared right after my post (see previous entry, where that post was placed on this blog):
"The world warned the US about the appointment of fascist judges,...but we didn't listen."
Q.E.D. THESE (such as person quoted above) are the people to whom Democrats in Congress are appealing. IF we had worried about Nazis having Constitutional rights, we might well now have REAL "fascist judges", or Japanese might be the official language of the country (oh, I forgot again, Jampanese MAY have about as much chance as English for that status, because Democrats are opposing English as our official language).
I have proposed, in my AOL blog ("The Maverick Conservative") that leftists demand the EXHUMATION of FDR's coffin, so that we can IMPRISON him (maybe we should have a posthumous trial) for what he ILLEGALLY did to Japanese legal residents of this country.
The difference here, of course, is that most of these TERRORISTS are ENEMIES of this country. Most of the Japanese held in detention camps were LOYAL citizens/residents of the United States.
Once we knew how to UNITE against common enemies. Despite the rhetoric of Obama, Democrats (of the political/leftist kind) often regard parts of their own country (Bush Administratioon, "neocons", etc.) as a greater enemy than Al Qaeda. That is DIVISIVE in a way we once would not have tolerated (as a people united, even if we disagreed on some things like the internment of Japanese AMERICANS).

I think it’s a shame that people do not comment on your blog - and, more especially, on the conservative thought that you appear to espouse. But I sense that some (viz., liberals) are dismayed because your logic is compelling beyond their ability to counter it effectively. Liberalism, after all, is a serious impairment of mental faculties that is not amenable to reason. It is sustained and propelled only by a statist faith.
Just yesterday, for instance, a young woman told me that she was 1) a die-hard Democrat and 2) opposed to raising the minimum wage. When I listened to her arguments against raising the minimum wage - which included every classical Republican argument against raising the minimum wage - I realized that she was a Virtual Republican masquerading as a Democrat. And often when I have conversations with others I find them stumbling over those same contradictions: the massive disconnect between their public pronouncements about party affiliation, and their truest beliefs.
Hang in there, my friend. Eventually, the sheer weight of logic will make every liberal look like the fool he really is.
p.s. Here’s a suggestion for better readability for your blog: Kick the font size up to 14. It is very difficult to read your excellent arguments. Make it easy for the dummies on the left.

What is a little funny is that, while I sympathize with conservative arguments against the minimum wage in theory, I have previously stated that I regard that "issue" as a distraction that we should ELIMINATE from policitcs by indexing the minimum wage in the same manner that we index Social Secrity payments (the raise in benefits used to be a periodic "issue" as Democrats pandered for votes).
The battle over WHETHER we should have a Federal minimum wage was essentially settled in the 1930's. Even though I think it, theoretically, should be a STATE issue, it is obvious to anyone that if the minimum wage is NEVER increased, that represents a PHASE OUT of the concept. I just don't think conservatives need to be fighting this battle over and over again. Needless to say, I respect those with a different opinion.
