Anti-Military Associated Press Strikes Again
Yes, there is ANOTHER of those "news" (non) stories on military suicides being now featured on AOL (see this blog for references to multiple previous stories trying to HYPE this non-issue). Here is the lead paragraph:
"Multiple new efforts aimed at stemming suicides in the Army are falling short of their goal: The service anticipates another jump in the annual number of soldiers who killed themselves or tried to, including in the Iraq and Afghanistan war zones."
Although not obvious fromt he lead paragraph above, the number of suicides we are talking abut is only "as many as" (talk about weasal wording!!!) 121 and the increase only 20.
The Assoicated Press never quits, and theefore I never quit pointing out that the Associated Press is DESPICABLE (a characterization that also applies to AOL News).
I can't tell you how many NON-STORIES the AP has done on mlitary suicides. There is, as usual, no real analysis of whether military suicides are any more frequent than in the public at large (military suicides would be MORE often reported). There is little mention of the fact that the number of people in the military has increased (albeit not by a huge pecentage). Bottom line: 121 suicides, or an increase of a mere TWNETY (easily explainable by CHANCE variagion) is a NON-STORY. 42,000 people died last year in traffic accidents.
The AGENDA behind this story is made OBVIOUS by the phrase "including in Iraq and Afghanistan war zones". Leftists, including the despicable AP, do NOT support the American military in EITHER Iraq or Afghanistan.
