Yes, this manufactured "flap" over President Bush allegedly attacking Barack Obama in Israel is instructive on many levels. 

First, it is instructive on the bias/agenda of the mainstream media, who parrot the allegations of every Democrat politician out there expressing his or her "outrage".  Further, the media does not bother to RIDICULE these leftists (as they deserve) for calling Preisdent Bush everything but, maybe,  the Antichrist--see pprevious entry on my younger daughter--over the past six or seven years.  The media WOULD ridicule Republicans or conservatives for being so senstivie and hypocritical about a speech not even MENTIONING a specific target (unlike Democrts, who have constantly savaged president Bush by name, here and abroad).

Second, it is constructive is showing again that leftist Democrats are not interested in real debate. They are intrerested in SUPPRESSING real debate.  They want it to be OUT OF BOUNDS to criticize a leftist Democrat.  Fruther, they want it to be out of bounds to criticize leftist IDEAS.  Meanwhile, it is okay for leftist Democrats to play on FEAR all they want.  They can play on the FEAR that President Bush will take away your freedom, adn become a dictator (or already is a dictator) as bad as Hitler.  It is okay to play on FEAR by suggesting that Republicans want the poor to STARVE, or die because they don't have health care.  It is okay to play on FEAR by suggesting that Republicans want to take away social security for old people.  It is okay to play on FEAR by suggesting, contrary to the evidence, that President Bush has made this country LESS SAFE.  It is okay to play on FEAR by suggesting that our economy is TERIBLE--maybe the worst since the Great Depression--whent he EVIDENCE is otherwise--in other words painting an unwarranted Doom and Gloom vison of an economy painted as much worse than it really is.   It is okay to play on FEAR by saying that "global warming" is about to DOOM the entire Earth. 

Yet, somehow it is playing on "fear" to merely SUGGEST that it is dangerous to rely on "talking" to evil people in the context of a CORRECT historical lesson on appeasement. 

To Democrats, it is dishonest and divisive to criticize leftist Democrats OR THEIR IDEAS.  Is it possible to be more DISHONEST and HYPOCRITICAL than leftists Democrats trying to say they are IMMUNE from criticism.

Itis DISHONEST to say that what President Bush said in Israel was a PERSONAL ATTCK.  He did not even NAME anybody.  He simply said that trying to appease evil people, like terrorists, is the wrong approach.  WHY do leftist Democrats consider that a "personal attack", or an attack at all?  It is because Barack Obama said in the YouTube debate tthat he would be willing to sit down and TALK to the leaders of Iran, Syria, and North Korea in the first year of his Presidency, WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS.   Now President Bush did not even refer to that.  But Democrats know he said it, and they know it cannot be defended.  So they are trying to say that Republicans are not even allowed to bring it up because it is DIVISIVE.  Since when have Democrats paid any attention to whether criticism of President Bush, or Republicans, is DIVISIVE.  In fact, Democrats have not paid any attention to whether they are undermining the foreign policy of the United States, or giving aid and comfort to our terrorist enemies.   Nancy Pelosi even went to Syria, and gave status to a leader who made a deal with North Korea to try to set up a facility to make nuclear weapons (Israel bombed it).

So any attacks on leftist Democrats are DIVISIVE.  Meanwhile, attacks on President Bush and Republicans (much MORE UNFAIR attacks, by name) are merely "truth".  It does not get any more DISHONEST and HYPOCRITICAL than that.

Leftists lie.  They lie routinely.  They lie often.  They lie without guilt (in a "higher" cause than "truth").  They lie for a perceived political advantage (expecting the mainstream media to back them up).

This reaction by Democrats also illustrates how WIMPY Republicans have become.  They should be using this as an opportunity to ATTACK Obama, and leftist Democrats for their dishonesty and hypocriscy.  They should be using ths opportunity to state how DIVISIVE Obama and Democrats have been on the War on Terror, Iraq, and everything else. They should be using this opportunity to note that although President Bush was NOT directly criticizing Barack Obama, that Barack Obama STATED POLICY of "talking" to terrorist states without preconditions is WRONG and UNSAFE.

There was a story yesterday that Democrat John Conyers was going to "get" Karl Rove--hold him in contempt and throw him in jail--if he failed to "cooperate" (do and say what Democrats want) in connection with one of those endless Democrat "investigations" in Congress.  DIVISIVE?  Leftists Democrats today have to be the most DISHONEST and FEAR MONGERING politiicans in the history of this country. 

Will Republicans start SAYING SO.  Will Republican politicians go to the media and DEMAND that their response to this Democratic dishonesty be heard?  Will Republicans DARE to stand up for President Bush and THEMSLEVES, or will they be INTIMIDATED into their usual silence.

Don't hold our breath.  And Republicans wonder why they are losing elections.  Why should they NOT lose elections?  They have become spineless cowards standing for nothing.  This is yet another chance for them to get a spine.    Again, don't hold your breath.
