RIP Hunter Kelly

Eagle WR blues;  Adidas buys Reebok;  Vegas gets NBA

*RIP to Hunter Kelly.  Hunter was the son of Hall Of Fame Bills QB Jim Kelly.  Hunter was born with Krabbe Disease [affects the nervous system] and in Jim Kelly's emotional speech at his HOF induction was named as the inspiration of Jim's life.  Hunter Kelly was 8 years old.

*The NHL is back in the swing of things with EVERY FREAKING PLAYER [except Stevie Y] CHANGING TEAMS!!!  I mean, in the void that there was no season....even a few coaches got axed.  Amazing.  I know that with the new economics that guys had to be cut.  But there are some big names out there changing spots.  I still say NASCAR is #4 in the "Big Four".

*The first Training Camp casulty has come out of Eagles camp.  Todd Pinkston ruptured his achilles running a sideline route.  It is quite amazing how BAD things have gone for Philly since the Super Bowl.  The open feud between Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb [which has since divided the team].....the Owens holdout and harsh words...dumping Freddie Mitchell....Brian Westbrook and Corey Simon's holdout...and now this.

*I recently wrote about my disdain for baseball.  Yet, I got to ESPN.com's MLB main page...and here are the top headlines:  "Pudge suspended for tantrum";  "Millwood suspended for hitting Mariner";  "Sheffield sounds off in interview";  "Livan throws fit";  "Radio host sorry for racist comments against Giants".  Hmm.. Leave a few days and it stays the same, eh?

*Congrats to Stacy [aka Monponsett] for her turn at AOL Journals Guest Editor!!!!

*In honor of Spike TV's "MXC"....here is your Sports Most Painful Elimination Of The Day:

*Speaking of Monponsett....she is almost ready to launch the MEGA SPORTS blog called "Two Minute Warning".    The blog will involve some of the AOL blogging heavyweights [yep, I am included] and should take this thing that we helped start to a whole new level.  And, ahem....we have CHEERLEADERS!!!!!!

*The 2007 NBA All Star Game will be in Las Vegas.  This just in....Michael Jordan has come out of retirement!!!

*For those of you who don't work at Foot Locker....shoe giant Adidas bought Reebok.  Yeah...Adidas and Reebok are one company now.  Youwill see bothbrands in the market, but they serve as one mega company [like Nike and Converse].  It may give the new shoe company the power to compete with Nike for the likes of the top athletes in sports.

*Derek Lowe's wife Trinka isn't too happy.  Derek Lowe apparantly wants a divorce from his wife of 11 years because he is shacking up with Fox Sports Net reporter Carolyn Hughes.  See....Hughes is the pre and postgame reporter for the LA Dodgers, the team Lowe currently plays for.  Hughes has been suspended from FSN until they can find out about this "improper work relationship".

*Have the Reds traded a middle reliever to the Yankees yet?  It seems to happen every year.
