Redskins Fall Flat In Pre Season Opener

Ramsey and first team offense look bad

While I don’t get too worked up about preseason games.....they do contain some merit. The talented teams are looking for those final pieces to make their puzzle complete. The middle of the road teams are looking at fielding the best roster.

And then the bottom tier teams, like my Redskins, are trying to figure out what they are doing.

So far, not so good. The Skins were mauled 28-10 in Carolina tonight. I’m not mad we lost...or that we lost by that margin. I’m mad because it seems we haven’t improved.

Our starting offense [except for Portis] virtually played the entire first half. We rushed for just 68 yards. Our first possession ended when Patrick Ramsey threw an interception on the fourth play. Ramsey did complete 8-of-12 passes...but for just 77 yards that led to zero points.

Our starting defense basically took the night off [5 starters didn’t play]....but there isn’t as much concern with getting them ready as much as getting them healthy. Carolina exposed the Skins back-up defense to jump out to a 14-3 halftime lead.

After halftime....our reserves and guys trying to make the team played. Both Mark Brunell and Jason Campbell played well in relief...going a combined 21-of-38 for 253 yards. Rookie Neil Broughton ran for 28 yards and Washington’s lone TD. Rock Cartwright caught 4 passes out of the backfield and looks to be a good candidate for the 3rd down back.

Aside from that....it was a poor showing for the Skins. Next up, Cincinnati.

Winstrol is the steroid that got Ben Johnson booted from the 1988 Olympics.

Ephedrine, principally developed for sinus relief, is the active ingredient in Crystal Meth, which sounds like an iced tea but gives you an 8 hour coke buzz. It can be made from Sudafed by anyone with passable chemistry skills.

THG is the steroid they used to give the Chinese women's swimmers...yanno, the ones with the Sasquatch backs.

If that previous comment guy actually has all of those drugs at his house....a crack dealer with an uzi and a grudge would be less dangerous to society.
