Ox's Take On The World

Today I come out in favor of Fred Thompson for President of the United States.  2008 may very well be a pivotal election for our country.  It's not so much the world situation or even the circumstances here at home that lay in the balance as most of the candidates profess.  The definition of the American dream will be defined for our next generation based on the outcome of this election. 

Why do I say this?  Look at the polarization of the two parties and you will see what I mean.  America has been sliding to the left for over a decade.  Like a gentle slippery slope leading to a steep cliff, this slide has corrupted much of the Republican Party and has allowed radical liberalism, also known as socialism or communism, to manifest itself as the core belief system of the Democratic Party. 

If the Dems win in 2008, the country will fall over the cliff.  Self determination and the Bill of Rights will be in full retreat and the security and prosperity of this great nation will be under direct threat.  The family construct and principled values this nation was founded on will be replaced with even deeper governmental indoctrination of our young children and the family unit will be tossed aside in favor of morally corrupt lifestyles and broken homes.  I don't even have to mention illegal immigration here. 

In national polling the top three Republican candidates are no better.  Although they won't necessarily push the country over the cliff, they certainly will maintain the slippery slope.  They all have leftward leanings whether it be abortion, taxes, education, crime, immigration and the economy.

The only candidate that is anchored in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that can reach out to the country and pull us off the slippery slope is Fred Thompson!  Fred has been a consistent advocate for what the founding fathers intended.  A staunch advocate for the Bill of Rights, small government, human life, American sovereignty, and individual accountability.  Fred can reset the balance in Washington. 

So the question is, do we as a nation continue to spiral into a divided, individually dependent, morally corrupt, second-rate nation under Democratic leadership?  Or do we continue the slow, painful erosion of our rights, liberty and the ability to pursue happiness under socially liberal Republicans?  Or do we stand up for what America is meant to be, detoxify ourselves from the addiction of entitlements, and rise above the petty squabbling and social segregation on which the left feeds!?!?!  I say the latter!

Vote for Fred Thompson!  Support him in your local caucus or primary!  Spread the word!  We want America back!!!
