The weather is cool and beautiful here in Central Florida and I felt this morning as if something special were going to happen today. It was the kind of feeling that my mother would talk about and make me aware of as a child, and now, here it is again. I decided to start a journal about my mother and her battle with hemochromatosis. I thought, "What a great way to tell people about what mom went through, and help them to avoid it".

So touching. I have the opposite disease. My body stopped accepting or absorbing iron and I have to have iron infusions, same difference, if I don 't get them I die and she had to have iron removed or you would lose her. I have been through every test imagineable and they can find no reason for my body doing this. I get very, very tired when my ferritin and serum levels are very low. I have learned one thing, there is a lot they do not know about these old bodies we carry around.

Your mom sounded like a wonderful person. God Bless!
