I'm sitting here waiting to be let into the Grand Ballroom for the afternoon sessions, and I have to say, sitting here watching people walk by is better than Grand Central station. A cafe in France beats this, but only because I'd rather be drinking wine than sucking on Altoids right now (I've nearly completely lost my voice).
A who's who in of the industry keeps walking by, I have never been to a conference where everywhere you turn you see SOMEONE you recognize. Some people I keep running into again and again, but there's definately a good variety of folks everywhere (as I typed that John Panzer strolled on by...ignoring me. Hrmf).
There are probably more men than women here, but the cute boy count is certainly not bad at all (oooh, who's that guy?). A good number of people here are very sharp and slick, almost to the extent that you wonder if they're in the wrong industry. Others, though, either are female fashion victims falling prey to exactly the problems the Today show talked about this morning (panty lines, shirts too tight, etc) or confirming every terrible male sterotype about this industry. The "when did you last shower" type. No names, no pictures, just general observations.
Definately an interesting bunch, though, and I swear, I could so sit here watching people all day. But they're bound to open up those doors soon, and I should get going.
More soon!
