As some of you may have noticed, we had (and are still having) some issues with the site loading properly this afternoon. The site is either loading very, very slowly, or not at all.
The reason? Pamela Anderson's getting a divorce.
Really! People just can't help but read and comment on Pam Anderson's divorce. So many people, in fact, that our servers choked.
The operations folks are tackling the problem now, and things should be speeding up soon. Obviously, things are already somewhat better or else I couldn't have made this post.
But, until everything's peachy again, um....go read about Pam and Kid Rock. Apparently everyone else wants to. :)

If it helps, things seem to be working fine for me. And, a downtime of an hour or two on AOL Journals is still better than the usual day or two on Blogger and several other platforms.
So, yeah. It sucks, but it could be worse.
The only concern I really have is that as AOL Journals and AIM pages continue to grow, are these outages going to become more frequent?
Eh.. It's not a huge deal to me. I was actually tinkering with starting my own domain with my own blog. But, that'll be a long ways off, methinks.

Pretty pathetic on AOLs part. What does that say about you? You make light of it like it is other people's problem for wanting to use your service. Either this is an excuse or worse the company is more pathetic than I thought.

Stephanie... no offense but this is a bunch of BS! It was Britney as well as Paris in the past. Are you telling me that no steps were taken after the first time to be proactive? I would appreciate you giving me and other folks in JLand credit for some intelligence. Just a little maybe? As for the quick fix for the file manager issue (which has got to be the worse excuse I've ever heard) doesn't work. I've tried. Over and over and over.. sometimes as many as 6 times before I can even get past the 'timed out error' so I can attempt to load just ONE file at a time. It's very obvious to all concerned that there are a few options here
1 No one has even tried the 'fix'
2 They tried it once and it worked, so oh well do it this way.
3 If someone did (and more then once) they are the luckiest person in the world and should play Mega Ball
4 Either you people are having sunshine blown up your a$$ and you believe it then passing it on, or you are just blowing it up ours.
Take it for what it is worth. For you guys supposedly here to help and get things promoted.................. oh never mind I'm sure you can figure out that I was just gonna blow sunshine........

And you want me to actually believe this is the reason? Give me a break.
