7/26 Sweeping the Sox

The Twins are now tied for the Wild Card lead after finishing off a sweep of the White Sox today. Wow...how things have changed since the All Star break.
Prior to the break, the Twins were playing as well as any team in baseball, but so were the White Sox. Following the break, of course, the Sox absolutely fell apart, while the Twins continued their great play. The Tigers are another story...the point, though, is that the Twins have an excellent chance of making the playoffs (at this point).
I'm liking what the Twins have set up for their upcoming Detroit series...Radke, Liriano, and Santana. Those three pitchers have been phenomenal. Only problem is that the same can't be said for the pitchers in the four and five spots of the rotation.
Silva was done after five innings today, though he still picked up the win. To tell you guys the truth, I have no problem with Silva...he's struggled, but I'm convinced that he'll turn things around. When will this happen? Who knows, but Silva's shown he has too much talent to let him go. Keep putting him out there.
In the fifth slot, Baker is on the way out. There's some options in replacing him, so while they're in a tough spot, there's no need to panic.
Loshe is always an option. Not an attractive option, but if he isn't moved before the trade-deadline, who knows? Loshe might still get his act together in the bullpen enough to be put back into the rotation.
Another option is Garza out of AAA...except he's only made three starts in Rochester. I'm guessing he won't be up until at least September. Nonetheless, it's entirely possible that the Twins could put him into the rotation.
Some interesting days ahead for the Twins...we get to see if they can keep this amazing streak up as they take on Detroit, and also what they'll do with the fifth rotation spot.
