WE GOT CATO
No, not O.J. Simpsons man servant. But Kelvin Cato, and all we had to give up was Darko "the Human Victory Cigar" and mister erratic Carlos Arroyo. Most importantly the Pistons also picked up a first round draft pick, which they were lacking.
So i guess the Darko experiment is over. THANK GOD. This total pantywaste was just sucking up space on the bench. He showed nothing in 2 years. No heart, No energy, No emotion...but most surprisingly NO TALENT. This guy has been an anal wart his entire time in Detroit. I am so glad he is gone. Lets get past it move on and win another championship, wasn't like he contributed to the first one.
Carlos Arroyo has been nothing but annoying since he arrived, and with Lindsey Hunter back and healthy that was a no brainer.
So Joe Dumars pulled another crafty move lets see what he weaves out of this one.

On Top at the Breaks
Both the Pistons and the Wings sit on top of their Respective leagues. NHL is on Olympic Break and The NBA is on the All-Star Break.
So i guess it isn't to early to start thinking about a double championship for the City of Detroit. Its never happened. Why not this year.
The Pistons are looking even better than the last 2 years. And with Lindsey Hunter poised to take on more minutes after the break, defensively the Pistons just got even better.
The Wings are far better than most experts thought. Most thought they were old and slow, but the Wings made some great off season acquisition's that have surpassed any expectations. Namely, Samuelson he has been a feisty ball of fire scoring opportune goal after opportune goal. This team can only get better with Niklaus Kromwall coming off an early season injury.
So who has the better chance at winning a Championship. Its a toss up anything can happen, but barring major injury both teams are going to win. Its going to be a first and im ready to embrace it. Go Wings, Go Pistons.

Four out of Five Aint Bad
The all star reserves were announced tonight and four Pistons were selected to go.
Chauncey Billups : Pretty much a foregone conclusion. He has deserved it for the last 3 years.
Rip Hamilton : Averaging near or over 50% field goals all year. He is well deserving.
Ben Wallace : Is there a better Defensive Catalyst in the league????
Rasheed Wallace : Dark Horse pick who got in to replace Jermaine O'Niel.
Finally nice to see the league and its peers showing some respect for the Pistons. And no im not upset Tayshaun Prince didn't make it in, i am still not sold on him, he takes too many nights off. The four going are well deserved of the honor. I think it is more of a tribute to thier hardwork.
Chauncey Billups will also participate in the three point contest, so that now becomes something to watch.
You know what i would like to see, HORSE. Have the guys play a Horse Contest, IM willing to bet Rip Hamilton wins that one.

Super Bowl Over Back to Normal (well as normal as i get)
Well the Superbowl has come and gone, so now its back to the norm.
Pistons
WHAT IS GOING ON.........PANIC in PISTONLAND. not. The Pistons were the last team to finally lose back to back games. At the hands of the HAWKS no less. Oh well its the Dog Days they are going to lose a few. I think they went after the lamented 35-5 record got it and are having a small little let down. No biggie plenty of time to right the ship. Tonight against the Clippers is going to be no easy task, the Clippers are having one the best seasons in there franchise History. Hopefully the Pistons can knock em back a notch.
Wings
Two huge games in the next 2 days against Nashville. The Wings can really distance themselves from the Predators with back to back wins. But most importantly the Dallas Stars have crept up and tied the wings for first in the conferance. The Wings need to win the Conferance or they could find themselves anywhere from a second seed all the way down to a fourth seed. Home Ice will be important come playoff time.
Its kind of a bummer that the Olympic Break is coming up. I love the Olympics but im going to miss Hockey for 2 weeks. I live and breathe hockey i have since i discovered the sport when i was 9. At least the games during the Olympics will be shown without commercial interuption, that should be fun.
So its great that things are back to normal here, superbowl weeks was exciting but tiresome. Im ready to move on and refocus on the Pistons, Wings, and in just a few weeks the Tigers.

SuperBowl Recap
Well i guess the Kharma of The Bus got him his championship. In a rather poorly played game by both participants the Steelers managed to capitalize on Mistake after Mistake by the SeaHawks.
Three Plays won this game for the Steelers. A 75 yard TD run. A duck of a desperation pass. And a beautiful gadget play that solidified Hines Wards MVP Trophy. Speaking of MVP i wonder if the FORDS were a little miffed that a Cadillac Escalade was parked on FORD field. I found it kinda funny.
I feel bad for Hasselback, he was the only player on the field i feel played well. I would have given him the MVP trophy even though he was on the losing side of the ball. Ben Rothlisberger played poorly most of the game, but managed to make some great scrambling runs and throws late in the game.
For the most part the game was a dud. As was the pregame festivities. Stevie Wonder was horrible, India Arie(sp) was just bad, Joss Stone looked like she needed slim fast, but the other guy i cant remember his name sang really well. Half Time was just BORING, The Stones have got to go away. Paul McCartney last year was way more entertaining.
The Commercials were pretty good, but rather than focusing on the good i want to talk about the Burger King Commercial. Someone at Burger Kings marketing department is doing way to many mind altering drugs. Dancing Lettuce, Dancing Meat, Dancing Mayo , Dancing Tomatos???? What???? And that damn KING he is way tooo creepy for me. I was so glad they never reran that horrible spot. I give props to Bud Lite who came strong with the FRIDGE skit that was awesome. The streaker for budweiser was great. The Ameriquest bits were great, especially the one with the lady in the plane.
But the real winner this weekend was DETROIT. They proved that this is a fun city. Good Eats, Good Drinks, Great Parties, Atmosphere. They had it all. Security was phenominal and the weather cooperated for the most part. I hope this helps curb the image of Detroit. I love my city and from what i have been hearing most people left loving it too. Big Props to the D.

SUPER SUNDAY
Big Game is finally here. So all the smack and all the chatter doesn't matter anymore, its show up or get bounced. Will Pittsburgh thrive on the home crowd FEEL or will Seatle swoop in and steal Jerome "the Bus" Bettis heart right from under him. Will Roethlisberger continue to be a young phenom, or will Hassleback show him why having expereince may be the key to victory. Will Shaun Alexander continue to run his way into the history books, or will the Steelers Defense stop him in his tracks.
Today is no longer a day of questions, its a day of answers. Answers that can only be answered on Ford Field in Detroit, where the City has been a superb Host. The NFL and the city of Detroit should be thanked for putting on a great week of entertainment and hospitality. Not to mention a great thank you to mother nature who let down last night, she threatened a huge storm ranging anywhere from 6-12 inches of snow, and as i look out the window i see barely an Inch. Thank You Mother Nature you have been kind.
So im ready for some football, only 10 hours to kickoff, Gonna get my cooking ON and my drinks chilled and ill be ready to go.
Go Steelers

SuperBowl Week Day 5
KID ROCK

After making us sit through one horrible ass opening act, and than making us wait another HOUR to come on stage, KID ROCK rocked the Joe Louis Arena last night. He promised a high energy fun show and he delivered.
To be honest i didn't expect to much from him, but being a local boy i had to go. But he was great Live, his band was phenominal, and the light show was very good.
Surprisingly enough to get down to the city we had planned on using the DDOT shuttle. We showed up to Fairlane Mall in Dearborn around 6:00 and the line was wrapped around the parking lot at least 2 miles. So we decided to get back in the car and try driving downtown. Best decision ive made this week, Not only was there NO traffic heading into the city. There was ample parking at the JLA Garage, for only 10 bucks. So that started the evening off real well.
Bought the wife a 30 dollar t-shirt OK call me old but i remember when a concert T-shirts were between 5 and 10 bucks. I have the Kiss, Metallica, Journey, Amy Grant(dont ask), and Ted Nugent Tshirts to prove it. I think the most expensive T shirt i ever bought b4 last night was the 15 Kiss Alive III t shirt i got in the 90's. I guess that makes me officially and old fart.
But i was able to get my "ROCK ON" last night. Pounded a few 8 dollar brews and got into the groove. The only thing is, what is wrong with the young kids of today. I think i smelt the worst weed ever at the concert. Now i dont smoke the stuff, but im pretty sure its not supposed to smell like the skunk that just got run over on Hines Dr. It was pretty wretched. Poor kids at least there moms could of bought them the good stuff i mean it is Kid Rock and SuperBowl Week.
SNOW
Ok moving on , folks around here have been bitching about the lack of winter, well they shall get there wish tonight. A major storm is a brewing and lordy lordy looks like we are going to get 5-10 inches of snow, depending on which news stations is hyping it up more. So i hope all you out of towners aren't afraid of a little powder, it is amazing how pretty the snow makes it look, well until the cars drive on it and than it looks like mud but hey its michigan. ITs supposed to snow. Enjoy It; dont hate it.

SuperBowl Week Day 4
Skipped Day 3 Oh well get over it.
Day 4
I promised i would talk about the seahawks. Ok so here goes. They have a decent quarterback and a pretty good running back. Other than that who cares. This is all about the Steelers in my book. Yeah i know those guys have names, but who cares, its all about the BUS and Rothlisberger.
Steelers are going to dominate. Traditionally in SuperBowls the refs swallow the whistles, so the more aggressive team has an edge. And the Steelers play on the edge, they pound you till you scream for mercy. Jerry Porter is going to play HUGE. Hines Ward is going to be a stud. And the BUS will be there to run the final three yards for a TD.
So Im going to go ahead and make my prediction:
Steelers 21 Seahawks 0 (heck at least they showed up)
Seahawks are just not going to be ready for the hard hitting Steelers, their not so manly quarterback is going down. He will be sacked at least 3 or 4 times. The "runningback" will be silenced to about 40 yards (MVP WHAT?).
So yeah im being a homer for the BUS, but you know what how often do i get to be this excited about the SuperBowl, for once its not about whos going to have the best commercial. GO STEELERS WIN IT FOR THE BUS!!!

SuperBowl Week Day 2
Well Day 2 seems to be all about the Steelers.
Yesterday one of the Steelers Team Buses carrying Steelers and their Luggage, lost one of the doors off a luggage cargo hold and spilled luggage all over a local road. Bill Cower immediately fired the bus company for the rest of the week.
But not to fear Steeler Fans, Local Cardinal Adam Maida has given the Steelers his personal blessing. Maida a native of Pittsburgh was good friends with the late Art Rooney Sr. So a blessing was a given.
Also, early this afternoon, Mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick presented Pittsburghs Jerome Bettis a key to the city. Unless you have lived under a rock you know Jerome was born and raised on the west side of Detroit.
Not only has Jerome earned a key to the city, he has also earned the love of the mass of detroit football fans. The local Quasi-hero has been adopted by us fans, and has made Pittsburgh the local favorite to win the SuperBowl on Sunday.
Today was Media Day (big deal). And the Big Media Party is tonight at the State Theatre on Woodward (who cares). I want tickets to Jenna Jamesons Party on Friday, if anyone wants to donate me a pair of tickets, please email me.
Sorry, Seattle maybe i will say some thing about you tomorrow. Oh i did hear that your van drivers cant drive....IN A PARKING GARAGE no less. How do you run into a CEMENT POLE in a PARKING GARAGE????? Not enough STARBUCKS???

SuperBowl Week DAY 1
Well survived day one of supposed Traffic Madness. Took a stroll down I-96 from Livonia in. And took a stroll from downtown back through I-94. Both Clear and free of any major traffic problems.
Interestingly enough though it is AMAZING how clean the freeways are. On a normal day its normal to see a few beds, tires, trash, dead bodies (just kidding), and other mish mash of things laying around on the side of the road. But i give Huge props to the NFL host committee on doing a wonderful job cleaning up the debris. It was funny last week seeing the FLEETS of vans and workers lined up and down the cities major freeways.
With Woodward being closed i didn't get a chance to see too much of the downtown area, but on Thursday last week i was down there and they were working on the MILES of tents and vendor areas lined up and down most of the streets down there. The City is doing itself Proud so far
The real test for me will be when i go to the Kid Rock Concert on Friday. I will be taking the tranist bus from Fairlane Mall in Dearborn. Hopefully that goes as smooth as it supposed to. Visit www.detroitmi.gov/ddot for more information on shuttles and parking.
So looks like Detroit scores an A so far hopefully we can show the world we are number one in other things other than murders and fatness!!
UPDATE #1 If your looking for housing during your stay, you should have your place rented by wednesday. Go to realestateone.com they say they have a few rentals still available.
UPDATE #3 Oh if anyone is in town and gets some awesome pics with celebrities or atheletes, and you dont mind me putting them on here, I would love to add those to the site as the week progresses. Please send me an email.
