DOMINANT
The Pistons continue to make a case that they are the best starting 5 ever to play at the NBA level. They just go about their business dismantling the week and pulverizing the leagues best. Posting HUGE victories in the last couple weeks against both quality and pathetic opponents.
Its getting tough to post anything about them. I mean how many different ways can you spin GREATNESS? So after hitting the halfway point i guess we can just grade the players and coaches
Ben Wallace : A- tough to give him an A. Had to give him the minus based on the fact he misses free throws.
Chauncey Billups : A Best All Around Point Guard in the League this year.
Rip Hamilton : A Having a career year. Even Hitting the three pointers. Turnovers are down.
Rasheed Wallace : B+ Showing up for every game now. Not taking nights off. But Technicals hurt team from time to time.
Tayshaun Prince : B+ You still have to remember he is still early in his career. But still seems to want to argue with the refs over everything.
The Bench : B After a slow start from Antonia McDyess he has turned it around and has returned to form. Carlos Arroya is still eratic. The Bench will get better when Lindsay Hunter returns. Carlos Delfino is showing a spark as is Maurice Evans.
Darko Millicic : F Get rid of this piece of crap.
Flip Saunders : A+ Took a great defensive team and turned it into a great team on both sides of the ball.

>>Oh so because Billups is a "JUST A COG" he cant be excellent?<<
That's neither what I said or meant and I think you know that.
<<I have never understood that philosophy. He is good because of the other cogs i agree, but he has been EXCELLENT this year with the same cogs from a year ago. Wouldn't that constitute to bering better and ELEVATING your team. His Elevated Play has Allowed the Pistons to lose only 5 games (2 to the Jazz Laurie I KNOW). Does that not make him a MVP type player. I think it does.<<
Again, you missed my point. Is he in consideration, certainly. Has he been one of the top players in the game, absolutely. However, put him on Phoenix and I have a tough time believing that they're in first place. Put Nash on Detroit, and I think the Pistons are pretty much the same team. Just because a guy isn't the best, doesn't mean he's not terrific. There is a middle ground. -

This isn't to say that Billups isn't in the discussion, but Nash's presence elevates the Suns to a top flight team. He's got his team on top of his division despite missing one of the game's most dominant players. Billups is very good, but he's just one cog in a well oiled machine. He doesn't have to carry the same kind of burden that Nash does.

Laurie,
Fan Ballots are a popularity contest. Skill is secondary. Chauncey stays in control. Nash is erratic. Hes exciting, but all around play i give that to Billups.
