SuperBowl Recap

Well i guess the Kharma of The Bus got him his championship.  In a rather poorly played game by both participants the Steelers managed to capitalize on Mistake after Mistake by the SeaHawks.

Three Plays won this game for the Steelers. A 75 yard TD run. A duck of a desperation pass. And a beautiful gadget play that solidified Hines Wards MVP Trophy. Speaking of MVP i wonder if the FORDS were a little miffed that a Cadillac Escalade was parked on FORD field.  I found it kinda funny.

I feel bad for Hasselback, he was the only player on the field i feel played well.  I would have given him the MVP trophy even though he was on the losing side of the ball.  Ben Rothlisberger played poorly most of the game, but managed to make some great scrambling runs and throws late in the game.

For the most part the game was a dud.  As was the pregame festivities. Stevie Wonder was horrible, India Arie(sp) was just bad, Joss Stone looked like she needed slim fast, but the other guy i cant remember his name sang really well.  Half Time was just BORING, The Stones have got to go away. Paul McCartney last year was way more entertaining.

The Commercials were pretty good, but rather than focusing on the good i want to talk about the Burger King Commercial. Someone at Burger Kings marketing department is doing way to many mind altering drugs.  Dancing Lettuce, Dancing Meat, Dancing Mayo , Dancing Tomatos???? What????  And that damn KING he is way tooo creepy for me.  I was so glad they never reran that horrible spot.  I give props to Bud Lite who came strong with the FRIDGE skit that was awesome. The streaker for budweiser was great.  The Ameriquest bits were great, especially the one with the lady in the plane.

But the real winner this weekend was DETROIT.  They proved that this is a fun city. Good Eats, Good Drinks, Great Parties, Atmosphere. They had it all.  Security was phenominal and the weather cooperated for the most part.  I hope this helps curb the image of Detroit. I love my city and from what i have been hearing most people left loving it too. Big Props to the D.

Aw, you didn't like the Burger King ad?? Come on, that was so tacky it was fun! That whole "Broadway Babes of '32" song and dance thing is just amazing--it falls into the So Bad It's Good category.

I agree with you about the King, though. Originally--back in the mid-70s--he was supposed to be a depiction of Richard the Lionheart. Burger King LOVED him as the guy who sold their food. Then researchers/biographers found out the Great Crusader was a homosexual whose relationship with Phillip of France was closer than was seemly. The King disappeared from BK's commercials right quick. Thirty years later he's back--it's a new sensibility, after all--but now he looks like the bastard child of Richard the Lionheart and Henry VIII. Guess he eats too much Burger King food or something.
