Subject: New surface details on Titan revealed...
Time: 1:41:00 AM EDT

NASA has just released another of those long radar "swathe" images of Titan taken by Cassini, and it's a beauty! As usual I couldn't resist messing about with it, so here are a couple of sections from the swathe, enhanced and manipulated to bring out more detail in its meandering rivers and the bay-lined shores of its lakes...

As usual the colours are false, and you have to bear in mind these aren't real photos but images built up with radar measurements, but all the features are real, and I think this gives a pretty good impression of what it would be like to fly over Titan in one of the survey balloons many scientists are calling for... Enjoy!

That "river" at the bottom there really grabs your attention, doesn't it..? What a stunning world Titan is...
