Subject: Happy Anniversary Cassini!
Time: 1:48:00 PM EDT
Author:  stuartatk

Hard to believe, I know, but today is the 10th anniversary of the launch of the CASSINI space probe. Ten years!!! I remember its launch like it was yesterday... must be getting old... ;-)

Of course, since its arrival in the "Saturn system" Cassini has revolutionised our understanding of The Ringed Planet and its mini solar system of more than 60 moons. It has shown us wonders we could never have imagined - Mimas drifting in front of Saturn's powder-blue atmosphere... geysers erupting out of the south pole of Enceladus... features on Titan's surface... and so much more.

To celebrate this landmark anniversary NASA has released a selection of especially beautiful images and stunning animations, and you can find them at the Cassini website.

Enjoy!
