Time: 3:43:00 AM EDT
Author:  stuartatk

Earlier this morning space shuttle ENDEAVOUR blasted off from Kennedy Space Centre at the start of what will be a 16 day mission to the International Space Station.Endeavour is carrying in its payload bay a new and extremely sophisticated (and not a little scary looking!!) Canadian "robot arm", and the first section of the Japanese ISS module, "Kibo".

You can find a full BBC report on the launch here, and follow the mission in pictures here.
