Subject: Phoenix: Spotted from orbit...

Now this is an amazing image...

What is it? A jellyfish? A shuttlecock? No... that's Phoenix, hanging underneath its parachute, photgraphed by the HiRISE camera onboard the Mars Reconaissance Orbiter. Yes, that's a picture of a spaceprobe taken BY a spaceprobe. Ok, so it looks crude now, but even before it's processed and cleaned up we can see structure in the parachute and even the lines connecting the parachute to the spaceprobe itself. Amazing, just amazing... And better images to come later today or early tomorrow, too!
