Feeling Worried

A Possible Lesson on Oneness of Religion

In light of the news coming from Iran, I want to suggest a topic that Abdu'l-Baha most certainly addressed while in the U.S. That topic was the oneness of religion.

Abdu'l-Baha believed that religion must be a source of fellowship and love. He warned against using religion to cause discord and hatred. Here are some quotes that Abdu'l-Baha must have used in his talks. They are the words of his father, Baha'u'llah:

"Consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship."

"The fundamental purpose animating the Raith of God and His Religion is to safeguard the interests and promote the unity of the human race..."

"The religion of God is for love and unity; make it not the cause of enmity or dissension."

"Religion is verily the chief instrument for the establishment of order in the world and of tranquillity amongst its peoples."
