Feeling Hopeful
Healing Thoughts
When Abu'l-Baha was in the United States, he did not always stand at a podium when speaking about the Baha'i Faith. Sometimes he visited with those who were sick, and he talked about Baha'i teachings, as they relate to infirmities.
In today's post, and in my next two posts I am going to share some quotes from Abdu'l-Baha. They are quotes that provide a better insight into the sort of thing he might have said while viisiting a bed-ridden patient.
Here are the quotes for today:
If we are sick and in distress let us implore God's healing, and He
will answer our prayer.
When our thoughts are filled with the bitterness of this world, let
us turn our eyes to the sweetness of God's compassion and He will send
us heavenly calm! (Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 111)
…the human spirit is in one condition; it neither becomes ill from
the diseases of the body, nor cured by its health; it does not become
sick, nor weak, nor miserable, nor poor, nor light, nor small. That is
to say, it will not be injured because of the infirmities of the body… .
(Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i World Faith - Abdu'l-Baha Section, p. 328)
