Thinking Like a Girl of 1912

When writing my story for the anthology Through the Eyes of Love, I focussed on the imaginary life a  young boy growing up during that period. I found it easier to picture the interests of a young boy than those of a young girl.

I do know from comments made by my grandmother, that the girls of that time liked to go to the movies. My grandmother told me that she went to see the movie Rebecca on 12 different occassions. My grandmother was 14 years old in 1912.

Today I am going to share with my readers another one of Abdu'l-Baha's quotes. This quote reveals the type of thing that Abdu'l-Baha might have said to a young girl who happened to cross his path in year of 1912.

Here is that quote:

O handmaid of God, peace must first be established among individuals,
until it leadeth in the end to peace among nations. Wherefore, O ye
Baha’is, strive ye with all your might to create, through the power of
the Word of God, genuine love, spiritual communion and durable bonds
among individuals. This is your task.

~ Abdu’l-Baha
