Subject: EXCLUSIVE: First Photo of Charlotte From 'Charlotte's Web'
Time: 12:00:00 PM EDT

Charlotte's Web photo premiere

Hey movie fans, here's one for the young and the young at heart. Moviefone has landed the exclusive look at the first photo of kindly arachnid Charlotte (voiced by Julia Roberts) from the upcoming live-action 'Charlotte's Web.' Anyone who grew up or had a kid in the '70s and '80s is probably familiar with E.B. White's beloved novel -- and the 1973 animated film based upon it -- about a spider named Charlotte who aids a pig named Wilbur in his attempts to avoid the undesirable fate of ending up as some sort of pre-packaged breakfast meat.

Featuring the voice talents of Steve Buscemi, Oprah Winfrey, John Cleese and Robert Redford (among others) and starring acting wunderkind Dakota Fanning (in the flesh) as the pure-hearted Fern, the film hits theaters December 20.

The Giving Tree and Charlotte's Web are THE two classic children's books that can reduce me to tears at the mere thought of their stories. I can barely get through the last page of Charlotte when reading it to my third graders as I had it read to me in third grade 40 years ago. I'm always weeping and slushing through the last line, "It's not often that you find someone who is a good friend and a good writer; Charlotte was both." I can't wait to experience the new movie. I'm wet just watching the trailer.

I am excited!!!  First of all, I own a copy of the origanal.

I love to watch Julia Roberts in any movie.  Her voice is reconcible with my eyes closed!

I really do like all the charecters in "Charlotte's Web."  I plan on marking my calender.

As you said, 'is's for the young and the old'.

By the way, I am 61, but I am young at heart.

i am about as excited for this as i am for Everybody Loves Raymond, the Movie. Charlotte is still a pig and the spider is still a spider. Are there any neato special effects that would really enhance the original movie (even though it is animated)? No. Remake some other movie. I don't need to see more Dakota Fanning. I need to see less Dakota Fanning.
