Subject: Ridges in the Sand
Time: 12:05:00 PM EDT
Author:  sunflowerkat321

Yesterday, I visited a beach near our house on the Long Island Sound.  The tide was out and the water was calm, gently lapping against the shore.  I noticed a fantastic pattern in the sand.

I can't imagine how these ridges could possibly be formed.  Nearly parallel, very evenly spaced and uniform in height.  It has to indicate a pattern in the wave rhythms, but it's almost beyond my comprehension that an intricate cadence of waves could be repeated so steadily over what is obviously a significant amount of time.

Sometimes nature leaves me speechless.

Nature is really a wonderful thing that is full of surprises.  I've wondered about these patterns that develop on sand dunes, and the beach.  They amaze me every time I see them.

Yes, mother nature sure is wonderful with what she gives us...but you are equally as good with what you see within it, and what you make of it.   Beautiful shot.
