Feeling Happy

Do you have a square to spare?

Whoops! I finished my hard copy journal tonight and I don’t have a replacement yet. I usually have a reserve waiting. I guess it will be a trip to Office Depot at lunch tomorrow. I started it April 7 and finished the 180 double-sided pages tonight.

I made my smoked chicken salad today with the leftover chicken (as opposed to pork, beef or fish, I guess) and it was delish!

Labor Day weekend was effective….I have no desire to go to work tomorrow!

Alexis kicked butt at poker last night. We took our houseguests with us so the pot was bigger. She turned her $5 into $27.25. Woohoo! Me? I bailed out with about $2 left:.

We were sad to see our guests go today, but life goes back to normal. Bills to pay, work to do, things to clean. I loved cooking for everybody for the weekend.

Trevor had a "date" tonight. He was asked to join Emma (6 y/o across the street) and her family for dinner. He asked if he could go and how could we refuse? He changed into khaki pants and a clean shirt on his own, wanting to look good. He cracks me up!

College football is back….Yea!!!!!!!!!!!! The Memphis / Ole Miss game went down to the last seconds. I didn’t care who won, I just liked the close game. Now FSU is playing Miami. I’m a big Seminole fan so I am hoping Bobby Bowden’s team has a good year. Especially in light of the fact that the NCAA tried to ban them (among other teams) from post season play because their nickname is offensive…..never mind the fact that the Florida Seminole tribe endorses the team and their use of their name. Political correctness sucks. Thank goodness that the NCAA had the good sense to reverse that decision. Why is it they have a problem w/ teams named for Native Americans but they don’t care about names like the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame?
