Feeling Happy
Nothing to see here....move along
I have had a great weekend. Yesterday, David and I rode the Third Creek Greenway 13 miles to Neyland Stadium and Volunteer Landing, which was busy with crews getting ready for the Boomsday Fireworks. This greenway is a hilly, tree covered path that follows Third Creek. It crosses the creek 3 or 4 times and goes under 2 roads. It was a nice, but short ride. This morning he and I rode my Cherokee Blvd route also. I felt strong both days. On the hills, I felt light as a feather and danced on the pedals effortlessly. I rocked!!! I swear that maui thai kickboxing has made me better at cycling and basketball.
I need to head out on the road for a nice 50 miler next weekend. He and I are going to do the MS Bike Tour: 2005 Jack Daniel’s Bike to Jack & Back in 4 weekends. It is a two-day, 150, 125,or 112 mile (depending on the route you choose) ride that goes from Franklin, TN to Lynchburg, TN, home of the Jack Daniels Distillery. I haven’t done an organized bike ride since 2001, so I am really looking forward to this. Cycling was a huge part of my life for 15 years but have gotten away from it this year, so I am glad to have a goal in mind to get my cute little butt in gear.
Damn, I’m in a good mood. It’s a beautiful weekend. All is good in my world.

Go, Chris, get it in gear and enjoy the heck out of that bike tour. Good cause, too.

Must be in good shape! I can't fathom that long of a ride, my butt would be aching for certain! Anyway, motivation and purpose have a way of brightening the spirits. :)
