Feeling Happy

Synapse misfiring

If I am unwilling to take responsibility for the attainment of my desires, they are not really desires – they are day dreams.

Nathanial Branden

Random thoughts:

It’s my birthday, woohoo! No parties. No going out. Just a relaxing night at home. We really don’t do much for birthdays in our family.

I took Alexis some flowers at work this morning on the spur of the moment. I had gone to the store to pick up a few things for the office and they had a special so I dropped them by her office.

"It’s his birthday and he brings you flowers???" one of her co-workers asked her later.

Right now, Trevor is about 20 feet up in a maple tree. He told me that he is an "American monkey" and then started singing that "Proud to Be An American" song. Interesting concept.

The first hints of fall are upon us, my friends. Afternoon shadows stretch out across the ground. The leaves are on the cusp of starting to change colors. The insects are quieter at night and I believe I’ve seen the last lightning bug of the year.

Before I say this, let me say that I enjoy listening to sports radio. But if you ever want to hear how nethandreal some of the locals can be, listen to local sports radio. Some of these people sound like they are one limb on the family tree removed from their knuckles dragging on the ground.

I have had water or fluid in my right ear for 3 days now and it is driving me crazy. I’ve tried SwimEar, q-tips, peroxide, etc. Maybe I should cram one of those little packs of silica gel (the little packets that they ship with electronics to keep moisture from damaging it) into my ear? What? Huh? What did you say?

The family of cats are still living underneath our front porch. None of the neighbors claim to own the momma cat so I guess we are going to have to corral the 5 kittens and take them to an adoption center. I would feel bad about the momma cat because if she is feral, the center will just put her down instead of trying to put her up for adoption. If I could catch her and get her spayed, maybe we could let her go in our yard again. I just don’t want a kajillion cats around that no one takes care of. If someone else had been responsible, I would not have this problem now.

I’m bored, bored, bored. I should go cook something extravagant for dinner but I’m waiting for Alexis to get home from some errands she ran after work. Great…..now I’m hungry, too. Great going Chris’ brain……now you’ve got Chris’ digestive system all riled up too. Why don’t you get his penis all hot and bothered while you’re at it??? It’ll be anarchy I tell you, anarchy!
