Inane thoughts and insane ramblings

Trevor went to Dollywood (Dolly Parton's Great Smoky Mountain family Amusement Park) today with his girlfriend, who lives across the street. If Disney World is the "happiest place on Earth", then Dollywood is clearly the "whitest place on Earth". Several years ago, the MTV show Jackass tried to do a bit on walking around the park trying to find someone that wasn’t white. Park security was none too thrilled and shut them down rather quickly. Dollywood is a theme park based on it’s most famous native, Dolly Parton. It’s actually a very clean park located at the foot of the Great Smokey Mountains. I don’t know why there is such a disproportionate attendance of whites vs minorities, but in my one trip there, I’d have to say the generalization is true. It’s mostly white people. I guess an aging country/bluegrass singer doesn’t appeal much to minorities but come on, it’s about the rides, right?

I had a great kickboxing practice this morning. How do I know it was so great? For the last 5 minutes, I didn’t know if I’d be able to keep from vomiting! I truly almost "left it all on the mat", LOL. When I did triathlons and was running road races, more often then not I would throw up shortly after the finish line because I’d pushed myself to the edge. That’s what I love about sports….knowing that I gave it my all.

Alexis and I worked on our landscaping for about 5 hours today. It’s looking great and it makes me happy because it makes her happy. You could have started new landscaping in all of the dirt left in the shower after we bathed!

Alexis got a new hair cut tonight and got her nails done. Isn’t she gorgeous? And here I am wearing jeans and a Claiborne t-shirt! She looks so great to me tonight….damn mother nature and her timing!

During the fall, I always have to have college football on the TV, even when I’m doing different things. Passing by the TV and trying to catch up on 7 different games in 5 minutes suits my short attention span perfectly. To me, it’s like having the radio on while you are working…it’s background noise.

I read journals for a few hours tonight, instead of reading the millions of alerts all through the week. It worked much better and my week was more relaxing. Additionally, there’s more continuity in reading 3 or 5 entries on one journal at one time compared to reading each entry throughout the week.

A lot of crappy things happened in my week but you know what? So much more was good. I am so much better off than many others. Life is good when you look at it.
