~Pic of Bay Aire~
64F Clear @ 1:30 am

Sharon of Coastal Comfort was staying only a few miles north of Palm Harbor during Christmas week. Of course, I was up in the cold, snowy, north country with a crabby daughter.
Appparently, Sharon drove south on the road I described that runs along the Gulf & look what she found! Hmmm, can't quite see the name. But it does say Bay Aire RV Park : )
I'm surprised she caught this picture. I live on a very nasty curve, known to the police and taxi drivers as "Dead Man's Curve".
Well, I'm packing up the laptop and sending it for repairs. I may be a couple weeks before I'm back online.
Until then.....y'all be good!

~Wish for 2008~
47F Clear @ 6:33pm
She is from PA, and I've been reading her journal for a couple of months. She could use some J-Land encouragement
After serious & cautious consideration your contract of friendship has been renewed for the New Year 2008!
My Wish for You in 2008
May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had, forget your home address! In simple words ............ May 2008 be the best year of your life!!

~Dizzy Blonde~
fifty five degrees F/ Sunny @4:48pm
Me Sick
Wicked Airplane Germs! My voice has that low husky Demi Moore quality (that's not so bad). A least I don't squeak like a mouse.
So that's much better.
Last night, for the first time, I thought I'd follow some of the nursing advice I always gave my patients. Went to refrigerator and yes, there was Robitussin DM. Looked at the expiration date....2004. Oh, WTF. I need help.
I took out the pediatric syringe, cuz' I hate the taste, and took 2 quick squirts. Cough medicine is so sweet it usually makes me gag so I just don't take it. But, that syringe thingy works really well. Hardly tasted it at all.
With the cough taken care of, I can breathe much better and not having those coughing fits. . The other problem...Vertigo. Not the movie...my balance is messed up. I've been in bed since I got home from my trip....my head is spinning like a top and I've been banging into walls trying to get to the bathroom. Geezzz!
Sandy called, we usually go shopping on her days off. Not today, too dizzy. So she brought me some chicken soup, 2 oranges, yogurt, and chocolate cookies. What a great friend!
Computer
Since I spilled tea on my keyboard the day before Christmas I've gotten most of the function back. I do not have the number "five" or letter "t" and the "W" does strange things. I've worked around most of these obstacles but it's a PIA.
After calling the computer company, I pulled out chip boards and did all sorts of things I didn't know I could do. No luck, so tomorrow, hopefully I won't be dizzy and I'm sending the laptop to be fixed.
~Moral of this long story, don't spill tea on your keyboard or you will lose your " T " I won't be online for a while. Computer company told me repairs will take a week,
HA, I bet it will be more like 2-3. I'll miss you all.
My S/N
Thank you all for your input. Looks like Sunny Bethe, it will be. I'm no sure how I will transfer all the info from Tampa s/n but when I get back online, I'll have a new s/n. I actually have the s/n now, so if you'd like to send a note so I can add you to my address book, that would be terrifc.
Thank you Donna for the graphic

~Chicago, never again~
fifty-five Clear & Windy here in Palm Harbor
Sunday, was my last day in Chicago. Nicolle had day off from work, so she took me to the "Mag Mile" (Michigan Avenue). First stop was the "Water tower", which acually 7-8 stories of Macy's. Nicolle had gotten a gift card from her in-laws, so she headed for the jewelry dept, It wasn't easy for her to spend $200 on costume jewelry. Me, I like 14 kt. plus.
Then we checked out the "American Girl" store.....My idea, Nicci had no idea what "American Girl" is. I loved it, excited little girls everywhere, beautiful dolls . Nicci didn't quite get my fascination with the historical dolls and the books.
We did look in on the little restaurant and saw all the girls having tea from tiny tea cups with petite fours on China, with their dolls sitting in little chairs beside them. Sooo very sweet! And she did like that.
We stopped in Saks and looked around. Then walked down to he Navy Pier. Which is about a mile down Michigan Ave., bu I hung in here and didn' complain abou my legs. We probably should have taken a Cab...but, I'm tough. Mmmm....maybe not.
The hoarseness I had over Christmas has gone to my chest, have a lousy cough & still sound much like Demi Moore.
When we got to the Pier we went to "Bubba Gumps" for Bloody Mary's and appetizers. A couple of appetizers is usually enough for Nini and I . Then the shit hit the fan, and this was before drinks. Apparently, she doesn't' feel like I love her enough. Not like Eric's family loves him.
I explained the dynamics of each family is different.
Then for some reason she brought up the fact that when she was a teenager I "trashed her room". This was over fifteen yrs ago. Well, her room was trash.....she was a teenager. But, it was trashed by her, not me.
She used to steal my clothes, jewelery, good jewelery and things from stores. And I'm no talking petty larceny, either. She was on probation and in counseling for a while for sealing over $400 worhof merchandise wih a couple of friends. Mall Secutiy followed he girls with video cameras as they "swooped" the stores.
Another thing she said was that I hit her in the face with a belt! I was astounded. When I told her that never happened ... she told me I must have "blacked it out"!
Honestly, I don't think I ever owned a belt and if I did I never would have hit my children with one. I was beat, had arms and legs broken, no aken o had he bones set, and worse hings done to me than that. I lived in fear of verbal, physical and sexual abuse. My children were shelered from that. Then she told me I must have "Blacked it out!" (he bleing her in he face).
I do recall her calling me assorted obscene words and I almost slapped her face once...but didn't. She was grounded on varioius occasions. She hreaened o call Child services and I handed her he phone. She was grounded alot.....And half the time she sneaked out the window.
The stories I could tell of that girls teenage years are horrifying.
I could write a book.
My friend Sandy believes that by Nicci marrying into a family with money and a husband soon to be a lawyer. That Nicci is embarassed that her parents were divorced, and that I raised the she and her brother myself.
And, maybe a poverish upbringing was shameful.
Presents..... at Chrismas, neither my daugher or Eric bothered to say thank you.
I think the next time I spend a thousand dollars for a vacation...I'm going on a cruise or a train ride to "nowhere".
OH, then I mentioned to Nicci I think I would send flowers to Shirley, the Great -Grandmother whose house we stayed. Nicolle asked me why in the world would I do that? My goodness, the woman is Eighy-five years old, i mus have been exhausting having 20 family members for the holidays, plus me. I think she deserves something special.
Nicci told me I was crazy. Ehhh....She can call me crazy. Grandma Shirley is getting flowers.

~Chicago~
34F Cloudy in Chicago/ 77F Parly Cloudy and Windy @ Palm Harbor
I haven't had too much time to do much sight seeing. Nicci & I went took Yampa to one of the city Dog Park for a short while. No grass, just asphalt and ice. All the dogs were having fun playing ball and chasing each other. Until a couple of guys showed up with Pit Bulls that appeared to be too strong for the owners to control. The dogs were on leashes and not let go, but they wanted to join in the fun, too. Socialized, appearenly they were not.
The area was very icy and the temp around 12 degrees, with a good wind chill. I had on my grandmoher's fur jacket and scarf & was nice & warm. We left mainly because of the dangerous situation of the Pit Bulls or should I say their owners and we weren't the only ones.
We then went for a drive around the Lakeside area and Wrigley Field. So many cute boutiques & unique shops along Broadway. I was surprised to see that the houses across the street from Wrigley field had bleachers built on the the roofs. I looked so silly! Apparently the owners charge $$ to watch the games.
How about that?
Nicolle & I were chatting and I had mentioned that I was unable to find loose tea in any of the stores in Tampa or even online. She took me to a small shop that sold every flavor tea imaginable and gorgeous tea little pots. I didn't want to leave, but Nicci had to go to work. I did buy a nice Ceylon and some Ginger tea (good for Colds) and bough a simple, but unique teapot. All for less thanfifteen bucks.
Happy girl,Happy girl!
Nicolle had had five days off from the "Reagle Beagle". She worked last night 4pm-2pm bartending. She is good a what she does.
Having worked five yrs at the Safety Harbor Spa, in Safety Harbor FL. as a teenager. Then five - six yrs at the Cheesecake Factory in Tampa, while in college at USF. She has had pleny of experience. After graduating from USF, she got her Real Estate License, but made more money bartending.
A couple of weeks ago, I think I may have posted about the men from the Mariott who were in for drinks a the Reagle Beagle & how Nicci joked with them by saying how she preferred the Hilton.
"Date night" Thursday Nicci warned me that she and Eric were taking a date night as long as Gran-Mere' was there to watch Yampa. Nicci and Eric went to meet friends from Law School and then Ni surprised Eric with an overnight stay at the Marriott.
The very next evening the manager of the Marriott came to the Reagle Beagle, which is across the street from the Marriott. Apparently, the Marriott is remodeling their bar and he has asked Nicci if she would like a position. Fifteen dollars base pay plus tips, and benefits!!
Medical Benefits would be terrific for college students on a budget, the offer is mighty tempting. Of course , she was working and didn't want to talk business while on he job. Nicci and Eric were joking saying that all the relatives could stay downtown a he Marriott when they cometo visit. Company perks, ya know?
Staying on the Mag Mile wouldn't be so bad! I'd miss Yampa though. He & I have become "Buds".
Nicci and I are off to the Magnificent Mile, Hancock Building, and the Navy Pier!

My First Cold in 10 yrs : (
29F Cloudy in Chicago 7:46CST / 68F Mosly Coudy in Palm Harbor@ 8:46 EST
HI y'all!
I'm sorry I haven't posted an entry in a few days. I've recieved a few Emails wondering if I'm Okay. .
T he plane ride from Tampa to Atlanta was a bit turbulant. And the same just before we landed in Chicago. I had worn jeans and a long sleeved shirt and was dreadfully hot. Nicci met me at
the baggage carousel, just as a piece of lugage passed in front of a girl whose b/f wrote big letters on his luggage..."Will you Marry Me?". Nicci had been waching he girl for quite a while and the girls mother, who was video taping the whole thing, behind Nicci, told her what was going to happen. By the time I got to the carosel, the big event was just happening and Nicci was all teared up. Me, too. I felt like we should clap or something, but everybody stood silently.
Well ... I've had a few problems. On the way to Colorado I started getting a bit hoarse. No big deal. Except my son-in-laws family is rather boisterous. I don't have a loud voice to begin with. So I had to whisper during the week we were there. No one coild hear me unless I whispered in their ear. I felt a bit "mousy" or like a "fly on the wall". We all went the Chrismas Candle Light service and although I know all the songs from my choir days, all I could do is mouth the words : (
When we got to Holyoke, Colorado I found that my Sprint Air Card and Cell phone did not pick up a signal! No only that, but I've been invited up to Montana in March for the house warming of my daughers In-Laws new log cabin. Yahooo!! More traveling...I love it. But, I want to take my laptop. the cabin is huge and about 1 mile out of Yellowstone! The whole family loves to fly fish and what better place could there be?
Nicci's FIL and I were sitting a the table after brakfast, playing on our lapops. Some one called me, I grabbed my tea and sloshed it onto my keyboard!
For days I couldn't type and my puter occasionally goes beserk : (
Righ now I can ype bu he "t" and the number "five" does work. do you realize how many times we use "t" in a sentence?
I'm felling prey smug righ now...I write "t" on an empy Email , copy and paste & Voila! I've got a 'T'.
More news, he hoarsenes has developed ino a full blown head and chest cold. It may even be aninner ear infecion, I am sooo very dizzy. Funny thing is I can ride in the car with no problem. Get back to the aparment and I have to lay my head down I am so darn dizzy.
Sunday, the 23rd, we set out for Colorado. The wind was gusing up o 60 mph and I am glad Eric was driving. Beween Davenport, Iowa & DesMoines I counted 164 cars and big rig trucks off the highway. Some flipped over, others in ditches. That in itself was disurbing.
Maybe tomorrow my 't' and will work and I'll be back in business.
OH, just to let you know I have had to turn off almost all Entry Alerts ... I'll be back as soon as I can, I promise!
