Albert Camus Quote on Capital Punishment
Yesterday, when I had unexpected free time at work (don't laugh), I had the chance to read the late French writer Albert Camus's short story "The Guest." I knew Camus, who had grown up in Algeria, was a devout opponent of capital punishment like me, so I was glad to finally read one of his works.
I found this quote from him, which I think even death penalty proponents will quip at:
"After all, every murderer when he kills runs the risk of the most dreadful of deaths, whereas those who kill him risk nothing except promotion."
