Maryanne has picked what is your favorite Watering Hole. New Orleans and its wonderful nooks and crannies of people and places comes to mind for me. To enjoy my fair city is to simply find an establishment, kick your feet up with refreshments and culinary delights of your choosing, and relax.
This past weekend we took one of our former foster children for an outing. We also patronized one of our regular old haunts since the 1960's. Famous for burgers and a baked potato or a steak if you are so inclined, Port of Call will satisfy anyone's sense of adventure. The concoctions of rum and fruit juices also keeps one returning for the fond memories. The Monsoon is my favorite. You can check out the joint here:

One of the intriguing aspects of Port of Call is the sense that you could be in any port and in any part of the world. Done in early ship's galley decor, it is dark and woody. So dark you can be seen or not seen there ( Ps- too dark for most pictures without a flash and not wanting to illuminate anyone that did not want to be, I declined to use mine. My Cheeseburger in Paradise and Monsoon took most of my energy).
As a result of the dark and intimately crowded atmosphere, it is a haunt for celebrities and locals, very few tourists meander to the end of the French Quarter. The foster child stated, 'ya kinda think that Jack Sparrow might be here!'. Aye mate, keep your eyes open!
It is ironic that New Orleans was covered in water because it is an outstanding Ye Ole Watering Hole.

Wish I'd have had the chance to visit there on my last trip to New Orleans. I'll have to rectify that oversight next time! Great pictures!

Tess, the pictures were great! I loved the old look of the front and the door. New Orleans will never lose her charm.
Thanks -
What a terrific watering hole! Loved the website and got a big kick out of the Monsoon's description: Neptune's Monsoon—An old recipe used frequently as a last request by pirates condemned to walk the plank.
No wonder you were seeing elbows after drinking that!
After looking at your pictures, I'm not quite sure if Bob Marley really died.
This was terrific Tess, and I've got the Port o'Call bookmarked in case we get back to New Orleans.

I love cormorants and anhingas - haven't seen one in years. If I ever get back to New Orleans, I'll look for the Port of Call. Sounds like my kind of place! - Karen
