The Imitation is Sincere...

Wow.

I cannot remember the last time this happened, but AOL software is once again getting credit for great ideas.  Imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery.

Yesterday, Betanews noted that Opera 9 Beta included webpage thumbnails, and gave credit to us: "Opera has even taken a feature from AOL's Explorer browser: 9.0 pops up thumbnail previews of a Web site when the mouse hovers over a tab." (http://www.betanews.com/article/Opera_9_Beta_Brings_Widgets_Torrents/1145551104)

Opera is a great product...and they have some great stuff.

However, I am most excited that the 'outside' worlds (at least Betanews and some of you bloggers) are taking notice all of the innovation inside AOL *and* giving us credit. : )

Regards,

Rice

PS, As noted in a previous post of mine, the Firefox Extension World is also taking cues from AOL Explorer...but we still need to work on the credit-thing! : ) (http://journals.aol.com/teambrowser/AOLExplorer/#Entry879)

Would like to be able to delete mail, spam, recently deleted mail messages all at once, with empty this folder in AOL Explorer.  It has changed and I cannot do that as I did before.

Now if only the Microsoft IE 7 would work as good.  This is a great browser.  I do also use Netscape and Opera.  But this AOL is quick.  Keep at it, and thanks!

Wow! Congratulations! I almost never see *any* compliments for AOL on the outside world. I am starting to transition to AOL Explorer, as you guys have got it together. Any idea when you can beef up popup controls, especially flash-generated popups.

I recommend to some AOL Members I talk to daily to give the AOL Browser a spin for more features - and they seem to like it, which is what truly matters. ;)
