Hearing 75 degrees/sunny

MY GRAND CHILD

Sitting here, watching American Idol and hearing Kristy sing; "Coat of Many Colors" by Dolly Pardon...She did very good, but I don't think anyone can sing it like Dolly! Every time, without fail, that I hear that song, I think about the little skirt and vest my mama made me when I was a little bitty child on Horseshoe Bend....

She cut the cloth from clothes given to us that were way too big. I loved that little skirt set. I can still remember that it was red plaid and seems like it was made from wool. Oh yeah...the rich kids at school snickered when I wore it too....just like the song....but I didn't care. Like Dolly, I already knew "the love my mama sewed in every stitch" and it was worth "more than all their gold."

I took Amanda back to the doctor today and they did another sonogram....Let me introduce you to my grand baby:

Can you see him???!!! Awwwwww.....I just can not wait!!! Everything seems to be okay....thank You God.

It is so hot here tonight...75 degrees at 9:00pm....Guess we are fixin' to get some rain or something.

We have not did anymore on the house up the street yet. We are saving up some more money...and then we will start again.

Guess what? For the longest I have lived in a house with only one closet.  Yes.......ONE CLOSET.........in the whole dang house!

Well, thanks to Kelvin.... I now have TWO!!!!!!!  He is so good to us...He is always finding ways to help out! This old house was built when the mill people lived in this village...and back then they did not have a lot of clothes...so they only needed one closet....

Do you know how hard it is now to try to make do with only 1 closet for a whole family? I have done it for 22 years now. Now, don't get me wrong...I know I have been blessed to have that one closet..to even have this roof over mine and the young-uns heads...and I praise God for it...There are many others who do not have even that much in this world of ours...so yes; I am grateful Lord...and doubly grateful to  have two closets..........YIPPEE!

I will post a picture in a later entry; as it is not finished yet... But it soon will be.....It has to be painted, etc....

I have already put all my clothes in it though! lol

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR MANY PRAYERS AND GOOD WISHES FOR AMANDA AND THE BABY...

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Sonograms nowadays just amaze me.  I can see that little guy so clearly.  My house is over 100 years old.  I had one tiny closet in each of the 3 bedrooms.  I mean super tiny.  The people built a huge one in the familyroom which helps but that's it for the house.  LOL...that's why I know what a chiffrobe is because I have two of them.  Love ya, Chris

My dear friend, you KNOW I can relate!  And by the way, "Coat of Many Colors" is one of my favorites.  My mom used to make my dresses from chicken-feed sacks, and I was proud of them.  I was blessed, though, because most of my school-mates wore the same sort of clothes.
