AND LIFE GOES ON...

              My 'Peace' rose (taken today)

I got a birthday alert today in my emails....It came from Birthday Alarm and was sent to remind me that Lahoma's birthday is May 6........

Lahoma had a journal here in J-Land and I came to know and love her...just as I have so many here. I cried when I read that it would be her 40th birthday....

You see Lahoma died last Christmas from cancer .....she never got to reach her 40th birthday. I went up to my bank and bought some Relay for Life footprints in memory of her and Kim.....not much I know...but I felt truly honored to print their names on those footprint cards....

Honored just to have met two brave women that helped me to go on with my life at a time when I thought I couldn't; when they were fighting for their own....They were so courageous....so loving....We can not forget them.

Me, Amanda, Kelvin and Dorris went to see my mama tonight. She was doing okay and we stayed a good while talking to her. She is getting more and more forgetful...She was trying to remember the birth order of her children and couldn't without help....and her short term memory is just that; short term.

We had to keep telling her that Amanda was pregnant. Every time she saw Amanda's stomach, she would ask if she was pregnant! lol Dorris gave her a little flashlight that she loved and I took her homemade cookies and magazines...We always try to take her treats when we go.

I had to have the repairman again for my refrigerator ice maker. He took the old one out and replaced it...and It is still not working right... I am going to have to call them back it seems.

I will give it a couple of days and see if it gets cranked up right...but right now it is only dropping a few cubes at a time and not nearly as often as it should...I am so disgusted about it all.

Well tomorrow is another work day, so I best get to bed...Hope you all have a great day tomorrow...THANK YALL SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE FOR ME...

GOD BLESS YOU ALL

A girl at my work has been battling cancer for 8 years!  she has been in & out of remission.  She only has a few days left on this earth.  She will be so missed, as the ones we lost in December.  It's just so sad they were all way too young!

YOu have a huge huge heart my friend!

I didn't get to know Lahoma until after she passed and then I read her journal.  What a sweetie she was.  I wish I had known her.  I had my friend Penny die last year.  Her bday alert came up in Feb.  Sort of stopped my heart for a minute.  Hope all is well with Amanda and the babe.  Love ya, Chris

I never had the chance to know Lahoma but I did know Kim, she was so inspirational to all of us in J-land. I think the footprints were a beautiful touch hon. Glad everyone was able to go visit your Mom. (Hugs) Indigo
