As of right now, it's not looking good for me to attend the Martinsville race Sunday. As much as I'd love to be there, I don't think I can take a weekend off from school and things going on around here to go. It really makes me sad I can't go, because I just love the place so much. However, I'm already putting together plans for next spring's race. There are so many things I love about Martinsville: the buildup to the race all week, it was always the talk of the school "you goin to the race Sunday?". Qualifying day to get all your shopping done, Saturday's happy hour and the Truck race (which has grown exponentially... from the stand being barely full in 1998 to being completely filled by 2004), and nothing is like race day. The people, the hot dogs, the beer, and everyone there having a genuine great time. Time to stop typing before I get to misty-eyed....
