I think I'm pretty much in the minority on this, but the minority needs a voice too (just ask Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc. but that's another issue for another time). Silly season: 2005. Jayski's getting more hits than Shane Hmiel's bong. And writers by the thousands whining about how much they're tired of it. Hell, everybody is tired of it. But for the most part, we've known whats going to happen, just a matter of making everything official. But do we really need to hear about how much we're tired of it? I mean, yeah, its dumb how the press won't stop, Jayski making up things when the story starts to fade, etc. But seeing everyone complain about being tired of it makes me tired. Instead of hating the parties involved for playing coy, I wish more people would sit back and enjoy the racing and not worry about it until we see the press releases from these teams, which mercifully came yesterday. But, the question now I have, is will some of the crewmembers from the 97 and 42 jump? Since I don't see Jimmy Fennig wanting to leave Roush, I just wonder how he and McMurray would get along, especially since I've seen that 2006 was supposed to have been his last year before retiring. I think McMurray and Wingo work pretty well together... we'll see I guess. It's going to be very strange not having Bobby Labonte in the 18. I remember Dale Jarrett in the 18, but Bobby Labonte made the 18 what it is, DJ's 500 win aside. I really hope that J.J. Yeley can hold up the tradition that car has of being a frontrunner, although the last few years have been tough. I guess the change is needed as a fresh start for both teams. And I'm glad Mark is coming back, even under these circumstances... as a fan of Mark since as long as I can remember, I feel like it was being shared with Rusty this year... and next year I will be sure to revel in it because it will be the end of an era. With Rudd retiring at the end of this year, to have had three guys gone, that would have been too much. I hope Ricky gets some due these next two weeks, he damn sure deserves it.
Today confirmed that Diageo would be the majority primary sponsor on McMurray's car. Cool. Hopefully, the Crown Royal car will be black next year. I hate wearing purple shirts.
