Shrub gets his second win of the year, and helps big brother's cause along with it (although I won't be helping it). Biffle pretty much dominated the entire race, but Kyle had better pit strategy and Biff's car fell off at the end. Stewart has this thing in his own hands for sure. I would be shocked if he doesn't win it now. I actually didn't get to see as much of the race as I had wanted to, but the Panthers were playing and I couldn't miss that. This team is really rolling right now, let's hope it continues.
Chase points?
1. Stewart 6415
2. Johnson -52
3. Edwards -87
4. Biffle -102
5. Martin -162
6. Newman -207
7. Kenseth -228
8. Wallace -399
9. Busch -441
10. Mayfield -476
Mathematically, Johnson, Edwards, and Biffle have a shot... realistically, Stewart will have to struggle or be involved in an incident to lose it. Back in '02, he struggled to an 18th place finish and still won it with some breathing room. Interestingly enough, the 97 remains 8th in the owners standings.
Race for 11th:
11. Gordon 4031
12. McMurray -10
13. Sadler -41
14. Harvick -106
I hope McMurray wins this again, because I don't want to see Gordon on stage in New York. Just let him sit there and look at everyone else.
And on that note, who can wait for the banquet now? Kurt Busch will be there, but will he be seated with the 97 team? Will he blow up and trash Roush Racing? Will Jack Roush refuse to let him speak? Can anyone else feel the tension this will provide to actually make the thing interesting? (Am I the only one who has thought of this?)
Also interesting to note who will be locked in for the first 4 races in '06 by finishing 35th in the owners standings. The position won't change, but the 10 team is there! And Scott Riggs deserves an Evernham ride? Next year, the 4, 32, and 7 will be in the same boat they were in this year.
And in some sad news, R.I.P. Eddie Guerrero. Yes, I do watch the WWE and I was completely shocked and stunned to see that Eddie did yesterday... it just doesn't seem right, a guy fights his demons, gets his life on track, and when he seems to be the happiest he has been.. .he dies. That isn't fair. I honestly don't know what to say about it, you can go here and view a tribute video.
