How do you say goodbye to a legend?
Rusty Wallace we will never forget the fire you brought to the track every weekend. We will never forget the manner in which you conducted yourself, from your brash, youthful days to your days at the end as a classy veteran respected and loved. My earliest memories of you are in the Miller Genuine Draft Pontiac, tearing up the track and winning races. You and Mark were my two favorite drivers when I was young, and my first cat was named Rusty, because of its blonde mane. And throughout the years my man, you have been as tenacious and gracious, as hard a driver and as nice a guy as can be. At Martinsville this year I was at Trackside when you were the special guest, and it was deafening to hear the "Rusty! Rusty!" chants from the crowd. And after the final race at Homestead, I teared up watching as you did your best to keep from breaking down on camera. Rusty Wallace, you truly are one of a kind. We'll miss you out there.
