Hearing Winger's "Seventeen"
We Endorse Spying (on Our IMs Only): Sneak a peek at our watercooler conversation, cut and pasted straight from our IMs, then join in below.
TheCoolerBlog: Filmmaker Lifts Lid on Secretive Ratings System children do not need to be protected from nudity and violence, they need to be protected from god-awful films
TheCoolerBlog: so NC-17 should only be awarded to total suckfests
LouderThanaBlog: I'd much rather my child see intense gore than "Glitter" or "Vanilla Sky"
LouderThanaBlog: cursing/sex/gore is reactionary material that goes away shortly after you see it. mariah carey reading lines sticks with you forever... eating away at your soul
TheCoolerBlog: Any Joel Schumacher batman movie should be considered obscene
TheCoolerBlog: and it has nothing to do with nipples on the batsuit
IMSwayzeCrazee: and shouldn't there be ratings for treacle overload? Pay It Forward... no, kiss my grits child acting
IMSwayzeCrazee: I see bad acting
TheCoolerBlog: HJO-17
LouderThanaBlog: but seriously, would you rather a kid see nudity, which is natural
LouderThanaBlog: or sylvester stallone in "Oscar"
LouderThanaBlog: it's a non-decision - quality control over content control
TheCoolerBlog: right, Showgirls nudity you can explain, bad stallone movies, you can't
LouderThanaBlog: how to do you sit down and explain to your child why "stop or my mom will shoot" was made
LouderThanaBlog: "son, i don't know" is all I can conjure up
TheCoolerBlog: damn, 'stop or mom with shoot,' 'over the top,' 'oscar,' 'rhinestone'
TheCoolerBlog: stallone may need his own rating
LouderThanaBlog: Someone please tell me how delicate art films can get an NC-17, but my kid can see "My Humps"
Time to Come Clean: Seriously, what do you make of the ratings system?

NC-17 really doesnt mean kids under 17 cant watch, it just gives kids a creative outlet 2 get rid of their excess energy by tricking their parents that NC-17 stands for No Convicts!

rocky 6 will be nc-17. oh come on. turn on HB(ho), or (s)hotime, or (s)cinemax late at night. when you parents are asleep at night this is what your kids are watching. if they want to watch it, they will find a way. censor something worth a damn, leave sly alone

I think too many parents worry about the movies now a days. You can't keep your kids away from sex and violence all his/her life. I feel as long as the child knows it's a movie and nothing more, I don't see the big deal.
