Don't Rely on Our Predictions or America Finally Got It Right

As we've shown in the past, we're terrible at predicting who Idol will send home on any given night. We thought LaKisha was a goner for sure, but it looks like Phil Stacey's Idol journey ended instead. At least our thoughts about Chris Richardson were right.  But we're totally excited about the final four! America go it right! In honor of that, we wrote a little something.

Jordin, LaKisha, Blake and Melinda are your final four. (Frank Micelotta, FOX)

Today we salute you, Mr. and Mrs. American Idol voters. After several weeks of horrific judgment errors, you overcame the obstacles and ended Sanjaya, Chris Richardson and Phil Stacey’s Idol dreams. You let your head, not your hearts, guide those dialing (or text-messaging) fingers and for that we commend you. So crack open an ice cold Bud Light (Coke for the underaged,) Mr and Mrs. American Idol voters, because everyone thinks they have good taste, but you proved that you actually do.

Is this the best american entertainment has to offer?  It seems as though many people think so and that's pretty sad.  Sanji should have won.....He may have sucked but he made it interesting.  Too many singers sound alike and too few things set them apart from one another.  It ends up coming down to who the crowd likes and not who has talent....which is what makes money as we all know, but if that's the determining factor then just call it what it really is....  A popularity contest with people who happen to sing while campaigning.
