Every day, The Onion hits the streets and asks people to weigh-in on the most pressing issues facing the country. We'll be serving it up to you every day, so keep coming back.
The U.S government released the first list of detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison last week, the most extensive accounting yet of the hundreds of people being held there. What do you think?
"How embarrassing for them. I remember when Gigi Greenwood released that list of
all the sophomore girls who had made out with Greg Curtis. I thought my life was
over."
George Shear, Auctioneer

The media is the enemy. Let the Military take care of protecting the country, which is their main objective, and let them run things as they see fit. The media plays on the emotions of the public and interfere with the proper functions of the Military. Release the names of inmates, all of whom are terrorists? WHY THE HELL WHY.

I think Mr. Shear's comment is the only appropriate one for this non-event. I think that if you combine this topic with yesterday's Daily Pulse "controversy" over the Fight 93 Memorial, and featured them together on both Blogs, you might see spontaneous combustion as the Blogs both implode. If you add the multiple Daily Pulse topics inviting people to share their worries on natural disasters, and this Blog's question on the "silent birth" of the child of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and mix in an entry or two on the bird flu, I really think the universe will make sure that neither of these Blogs WILL HAVE EVER BEEN.

With the Middle-East attitude releasing the prisoner's names at Gitmo is a good thing. Most other nations do not have strong due process rules, and simply being near a prison may be enough to stigmatize them. When the prisoners of war are finally released give them a prisoner certificate when they get sent home and publish that fact in their local newspapers: watch them face a problem with the stigma of being in a prison in nations that do not embody liberty amid the people.
