Now to be serious.  George Saunders is an accomplished writer and I am thrilled to know that he practices something that was once obviously practiced of people across the world.  The United States can be so literal minded that it sometimes misses the patterns that people have and embody.  Jung called these archetypes, Freud called it the mind in how it organizes information by symbols, and Joseph Campbell called it myth and the mythic beliefs that every society embodies.  The United States is a very literal and sophisticated nation so the myths we embody can be complex and detailed.  We still have our amulets such as diplomas, badges of office, and symbols of passage (such as the red cross of medicine) that give us permissions and restrictions in society; we still have our rites of passage such as High School graduation to become an adult and inauguration ceremonies to become leaders; we still have our shamans of the mind such as psychology and in some fashion our news media where they report with their bias as those sanctified and accepted to report to the national tribe; we still have totems that represent culture such as Michael Jordan basketball shoes and when on wears them it is a signal you are into basketball where we may not be the players, but we can certainly have totems representing the sport (totems are signs, but not necessarily a power of an amulet, and people can really love totems giving them traits of success when you have them).  Truly we only conduct our business by opinion, so when a police officer places a badge on his chest he changes his entire character at that moment and is no longer Joe Individual and is the Police Department--this is mythic belief and the power of the badge amulet (powers and authority).  George Saunders is a great writer to gain enough attention, but the meaning when true can be a good fun look at who we really are about.

To become the writer George Saunders is an interesting idea.  Due to the dual nature of the Universe people who buy Playboy are Playboy, people on AOL are AOL, teachers who teach are the students, students who learn from the teacher is the teacher, people who graduate a university or college is the university or college, the university or college is the graduates, people who are citizens are the nation, and the nation is the citizens.  This has neat meanings where a citizen of the United States is a republic without nobility, and nobility cannot exist without non-nobility; therefore the United States citizens are nobility (read the Constitution and Amendments we give ourselves noble powers, rights, and authority), thus the United States is a noble republic: the other noble nations--implementing a common theme of government in history--cannot exist without the United States making the United States an metaphoric island of citizens with noble powers, but have no nobility by title.  To read a writer's works is to become the author; the author, who cannot exist without the readers, are the readers of the books.  This works in our psychology and physiology where we learn solely by experience including the experience of reading, so we become what we experience with our natural abilities to understand and perceive (our minds really are pattern organizers where we take in perceived patterns and organize them and assign other stored pattern responses (values) to them in turn, and then reflect the input with our behavior (output).  To experience the readings of the author George Saunders is to become George Saunders, and when George Saunders goes to public gatherings for his autograph he is meeting himself as a writer--he should be thrilled to know who he really is about and what role he really embodied.  As a reader of Saunders you are George Saunders and you should be thrilled to meet yourself.

To become the writer George Saunders is an interesting idea.  After all what would it be like to be George Saunders?  The entire Universe--as we know it--is based upon duality (contrasts) where all things are defined by opposites and perceived by contrasts: life & death, employed & unemployed, AOL & non-AOL, student & non-student, United States & non-United States, citizen & non-citizen, symbol & background (non-symbol), parent & non-parent (child—we are all children), graduate & non-graduate (implies not everyone is going to make it to have any meaning).  Interesting ones is people who voted for President George W. Bush is President George W. Bush where one cannot exist without the other, and people who purchased the film Star Wars is Star Wars where one cannot exist without the other (this actually turns into the United States really is the entertainment industry).  The scary one is the Universe that contains everything, but it is a misnomer without a contrast where what is non-Universe?  Thus the Universe is infinite somehow and orders itself as a natural act.  The interesting one is God where without non-God, then God does not exist, so those who accept God become God with some kind of inherited set of attributes, and this works for the Devil where you have Devil and non-Devil and in order for the Devil to exist we are the Devil.  Atheists with non-God also means they cannot be their own God and they may be an illusion by their very nature, or a conflict with reality.  The in-group cannot exist without the out-group, and distinction depends upon the scale of observation.  There are deeper meanings for this, but the 2000 character limit keeps me on the subject.  The implication is to purchase a book of George Saunders, and then become George Saunders and see what it is like: be sure to read, because after all you are George Saunders and you should want to know about George Saund

Syracuse University certainly gave George Saunders an amulet to deal with the dragons, demons, and monsters: these things are routinely taught at United States Universities and Colleges for the adept who has the skill to perceive the true nature of the Universities and Colleges.  That is the great thing about Universities is that you can collect some amulets to deal with the monsters, demons, and dragons out there; a lot of people really do not see them, because they are careful to appear human, but they are out there and can be very dangerous or simply drain your life--cheat and lie--while you struggle to survive, because you have limited capability to perceive to defend yourself.  One thing that happened to the United States for such wonderful institutions of Universities to arise is something of a fable; the United States Founding Fathers accidentally found the Holy Grail brought in by some sailors in one of their travels, and sailors of the past have been notorious for not recognizing artifacts for what they are, so they just simply brought it into port and let it go.  What the Founding Fathers did with the Holy Grail was to service themselves in the new United States giving power to the new United States as the initial guardians and embedded some power of God within the people of the United States itself: as you know, the Holy Grail has some power of God.  The United States also found the All-Seeing-Eye artifact and embedded its power in its Universities and Colleges, and you go there and receive a part of the knowledge of society from the All-Seeing-Eye—you--are changed by even crossing the threshold of a university or college upon being accepted.  As a result of the power of God the United States found a hidden treasure of vast wealth usually hidden by the dragons, demons, and monsters in their fights over control and wealth, but the United States has the direct power and could find it, we are great.
