Newly elected Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi said that the invasion of Iraq was a "grave error" and will propose withdrawing Italian troops. What do you think?
"I just hope they don't close that charming Iraqi-Italian place in Fallujah
where Mahmoud and I first fell in love."

If Italy wants to leave, then let them. It will give the United States more decision making capability in the new Iraqi government.

I just hope the Italians don't ever need our help again. But, if they did, we'd probably give it. As MLK said, "In the end, we will remember not the words of our ememies, but the SILENCE of our friends." Only time will tell whether liberating Iraq from Saddam was a mistake. I am optimistic that the majority of the Iraqi people want to take advantage of this opportunity to be free. We'll see. Seems so many of them want to continue living in the 7th century, despite sitting on a wealth of oil. A strong, free Iraq would put a chill in the hearts of surrounding dictatorship, terrorist supporting countries. I hope to live to see it.

Unfortunately Italy is right and they're definitely not the first ones to leave and they certainly won't be the last.
The bush admin has done the seemingly impossible, alienated us to the rest of the world.
Do you KNOW how STUPID bush is? He actually believed Sweden didn't have an army and did not KNOW how stupid he was making himself look:
"In the Oval Office in December 2002, the president met with a few ranking senators and members of the House, both Republicans and Democrats. ...the Hungarian-born Tom Lantos, a Democrat from California ...went on to describe for the president how the Swedish Army might be an ideal candidate to anchor a small peacekeeping force on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip...The president looked at him appraisingly, several people in the room recall.
''I don't know why you're talking about Sweden,'' Bush said. ''They're the neutral one. They don't have an army.''
Lantos paused, a little shocked, and offered a gentlemanly reply: ''Mr. President, you may have thought that I said Switzerland. They're the ones that are historically neutral, without an army.'' Then Lantos mentioned, in a gracious aside, that the Swiss do have a tough national guard to protect the country in the event of invasion.
Bush held to his view. ''No, no, it's Sweden that has no army.''

This isn't an isolated incident either.
Imagine: This is the guy running the nation.
