Video of the Day | Plan B

A young woman was raped and then denied the Plan B pill by a doctor because it conflicted with his religious beliefs. Something feels off about this to us...

Try again. As a 40 year old woman I've had as much experience with womens health care issues as you have, if not more.

You are not a victim; if you chose to have an abortion than grow up and take responsibility for it. If you were forced, then call the police and/or a lawyer. If you're feeling guilty, thats your problem; don't project your own feelings of guilt  onto people who are willing and able to make their own choices regarding their own pregnancies. If you're the "victim" of a botched abortion then look to the people who have tried to make this medical procedure illegal, forcing women who want an abortion to fall victim to the bogus doctors and "clinics" or worse yet try to end their own pregnancies and die or seriously injure themselves trying.

No, I would not "validate" your rhetoric. I have nothing but disgust  for the people who have turned a pill that can safely prevent these unwanted pregnancies, as well as the possibility of complications from a more invasive procedure such as an abortion, into their own personal crusade.

    To frankboothpbr:

Typical response from someone who does not know what it is like and is happy to remain ignorant.  Not an ounce of compassion.  Typical.  I feel sorry for people that trivialize someone isles pain.  Not real to you, therefore not real.......it is a good thing I do not look to you for validation.

Oh, goodie. We got to hear from the "guilty conscience abortion survivor" that usually gets dragged out whenever this topic comes out with the "horror stories" that only she knows of that go on behind the closed door....

This makes no sense.  I have a lot of deep personal beliefs but I don't use them like a baseball bat on other people because 1.) I have quite enough self-respect of my own; 2.) I treat others as I would wish to be treated myself; 3.) my deep personal beliefs are too sacred to me to behave like that.  Years ago I used to hear actual medical and even religious people who are sometimes the very same state that it was God's will that people died of illnesses or suffered horribly.  The illnesses in question have since been conquered but the thinking lingers on.  This doctor should lose his license and be kept from practing ever again.  The way it goes with doctors - or at least it used to - you treat what is in front of you.  If you refuse treatment for any reason you can be in a whole pile of trouble.  As for Plan B being an abortifacent, this doctor should know better.  It is essentially a contraceptive which would prevent implantation.  Oddly enough there are doctors around who actually believe that an egg is immediately (faster than lightening) fertilized when the process takes a whole lot longer than that.  It sounds almost as if they are into "magic".  Cannot respect such a doctor - or a pharmacist - for such a position.  They are bogus!!  And we need to be protected from them.
