SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The California Legislature passed a bill that would give California's 55 electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, rather than the candidate who captured the state — but for now, the measure stands a slim chance of becoming reality.
--------------
This would violate the premise that each vote is supposed to be equal. This is also a cheat because California is attempting to decide for everyone by discounting opposing votes. The Constitution forbids breaking apart a State after being formed, but California should be split in two due to the abused election system. A lot of votes are being discounted for the people actually voted upon. California's electoral system is corrupt.
