Millions of Shi?ite Muslims pilgrimage to the city of Karbala, 50 miles south of Baghdad, in mourning of the anniversary of the killing of their revered martyr, Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. Security in the area has been put on alert in preparation for any possible attacks, the Ashura pilgrimage ends on January 30.
