Info Junkie | The Man Behind '24'

Kelsey McNeal, FOX

For all its fictional liberties, '24' depicts the fight against Islamist extremism much as the Bush Administration has defined it: as an all-consuming struggle for America’s survival that demands the toughest of tactics. Not long after September 11th, Vice-President Dick Cheney alluded vaguely to the fact that America must begin working through the “dark side” in countering terrorism. On '24' the dark side is on full view. Surnow, who has jokingly called himself a “right-wing nut job,” shares his show’s hard-line perspective. Speaking of torture, he said, “Isn’t it obvious that if there was a nuke in New York City that was about to blow—or any other city in this country—that, even if you were going to go to jail, it would be the right thing to do?”

If we resort to torture in this country, then we have fallen back and are no better than all the enimies and wars we have fought in the past. Where will it stop?  Should we start to torture drug dealers from our inner city streets, or how about repeat drunk drivers. the American people must nip this in the bud before we are all savages again. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU.

War on terror? There is NO war on terror. It's a misnomer,a lie.And frankly,I am ashamed of Keifer Sutherland in being a part of the propaganda machine in this country.Disgusting. All '24' does is perpetuate the lie. (and no,I'm NOT muslim)

Bush and 24 both rule. Im tired of Americans having to die because we refuse to use the same tactics on the enemy that they use on us. if they work theyre ok.  The liberal media cries when an American puts panties on the face of an insurgent but when an insurgent hacks off an American head its completely ok. you people are morons.

Are you scared yet? You should be and you better be ready. First priority for the government of the USA is intelligence data and our military. Common people are low priority. Losing 50 or a hundred million is no concern for the government.
