1. I remember one frigid New Hampshire night, somewhere along Interstate 93. McCain held court, and we crowded around. Lawmakers apologize for linking evolution to Jewish teachings similar to critique of a book published recently: Book Review: A HISTORY of the END of the WORLD, How the Most Controversial Book in the Bible Changed the Course of Western Civilization, author is Jonathan Kirsch.
The distinguish author, Jonathan Kirsch characterizes the Book of Revelation “as a vivid and violent revenge fantasy that has played a significant role in the march of Western civilization.” He quotes many well know literary authors’ comments on the Book of Revelation, and classifies the last book of the New Testament as the Apocalypse.
One contention of author Kirsch in his review of the Book of Revelation indicates writings that do not reconcile with the four gospels of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. His book makes statements (see footnotes) that Revelations is written with revenge while the gospels are written with forgiveness and salvation for the world.
As one who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, my favorite part of the Book of Revelation is Chapter Five where the author sees and hears in his vision a host of creatures, elders, saints who sing these words.
"You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth."
The above quote from the Book of Revelation is a summary of what Jesus Christ did for the world and corresponds exactly to the life of Jesus described in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. When John the Baptist first saw Jesus, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”
My contention is that the author of Revelation saw and heard what one day we will all see, hear, smell, touch, feel and experience reality in the presence of God and face to face with Jesus Christ “who lives forever and eve -
President Franklin D. Roosevelt Fireside Chat on War with Japan 09 December 1941 (the war started on 07 December 1941).
Concerning national security and responsibility to the press:
"It must be remembered by each and every one of us that our free and rapid communication these days must be greatly restricted in wartime. It is not possible to receive full and speedy and accurate reports front distant areas of combat. This is particularly true where naval operations are concerned. For in these days of the marvels of the radio it is often impossible for the Commanders of various units to report their activities by radio at all, for the very simple reason that this information would become available to the enemy and would disclose their position and their plan of defense or attack.
Of necessity there will be delays in officially confirming or denying reports of operations, but we will not hide facts from the country if we know the facts and if the enemy will not be aided by their disclosure.
To all newspapers and radio stations -- all those who reach the eyes and ears of the American people -- I say this: You have a most grave responsibility to the nation now and for the duration of this war.
If you feel that your Government is not disclosing enough of the truth, you have every right to say so. But in the absence of all the facts, as revealed by official sources, you have no right in the ethics of patriotism to deal out unconfirmed reports in such a way as to make people believe that they are gospel truth.
Every citizen, in every walk of life, shares this same responsibility. The lives of our soldiers and sailors -- the whole future of this nation -- depend upon the manner in which each and every one of us fulfills his obligation to our country." -
"US 'Iran attack plans' revealed," 20 February 2007, BBC NEWS of news.bbc.co.uk .
The BBC News team found something obvious, the U.S. military looked at Iran and has been looking at Iran since the fall of Iran in its revolution and kidnapping of the U.S. Embassy under the President Jimmy Carter Administration. The alleged battle plans are uncredible and untrustworthy, because there is no intent, so no mission, and without a mission nothing happens including no specific details. And this is just a expectation of policy that was seen in Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, and Second World War--the military mission is to break things and make noise, but only under authority and this is a World History fact. There is a responsibility for reporters to not lie in military matters and not misrepresent, because without all of the facts they can only report something of truth and should only be specific to that specified truth with no misrepresentation of what it is about, but it cannot be published as gospel truth, because not everything is revealed for obvious security reasons--even President Franklin D. Roosevelt discussed national security and responsibility in reporting in military affairs, and it is because the military does not tell the press anything, except under controlled conditions. There is military public relations where the press can ask questions, but the United States is under political leadership and go talk to them. By example, just because you saw a military aircraft as was pictured on the news article does not make a war attack, you only saw the aircraft and only report such, but the truth of intent and plans go unknown: there are many nations the United States has not attacked. And photographs do not prove much, because I have seen old photographs used for current events in news media, the uniforms were out of date and marked wrong for current events, so credibility in the press does means something. -
Ralph Blumenthal, "Lawmaker Apologizes for Memo Linking Evolution and Jewish Texts," 17 February 2007, New York Times of www.nytimes.com .
Yet another evolution in school thing from Texas and their elected representatives in Texas. I can say this, because of the separation of church and state doctrine that originates in the First Amendment of keeping Government out of church policy, texts, preachers, and teachings (no regulation for churches by the Government), the school systems are attempting to explain origins, and all they have is evolution, because claiming God is perceived as too religious. Truth is you can teach modern biology without ever teaching evolution, because no one saw the beginning and have no idea, so it is all uncredible and keeps changing. You could take evolution out of every classroom and still get a credible education in the science, arts, and law of things we do know: Occam's Razor, you do not need to explain God to solve math, and you do not need to explain evolution to solve math.
The Bible just claims God is creator with no explanation of how, and the Garden of Eden is truth, but only if you understand it. It is the recorded myth with a moral lesson written by Moses who did not witness anything either, but he did record a understanding where moral lessons were recorded using conventional symbols. Man did eat of the tree of knowledge and advanced beyond the animals, and fell in Man's own eyes as innocence was lost and we were not animals with gained intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge: shame was found for Man, but animals are shameless and have no sin, and we are better than that, and that is the fall into sin that comes from righteousness and truth. Study, and every culture of the world has their myths that encode right and wrong, good and bad, and fundamental ideas. It does not take away from God, for God is, God was, and God always will be, but the roots are a beginning, and for
