Feeling Sad
Good bye Sweet Slushy...you will be missed
Hi All
Well after 19 wonderful years my mom's siamese cat Slushy passed away in her sleep while sleeping on Mom's feet. I bought this cat when I was 21 years old. I was determined to have a kitten because I was living alone in an apartment so on a slushy and snowy nite I ventured out and picked up my kitten who I named Slushy. When I moved back home for a year or two my mom had grown very attached to her, so I let her have her. She was a beautiful cat with huge blue eyes and dark brown markings, her meow's sounded like a baby crying. She was a active and lovable friend to the end. She is now buried in the garden with a little memorial to her. I'm on a mission now to find mom a new kitten, she wants another Siamese or a black one. I have been looking but now a days they want between $300-$350 for a Siamese, I am hoping I will luck out and find one cheaper. It stinks to love and lose a pet as they are like part of our family. I'm grateful I have my Delilah to come home to. I will let you know how the great kitten search goes......

Feeling Happy
Wow No entry in a month, have been to Fla and back

Hi ya,
Figured since I have not made an entry in a month I should maybe do one. Well we had our vacation in florida and came back to the horrible cold and snow. Vacation was probably one of the best we had. We stayed at Dave's Dads condo right above Ft. Lauderdale, and at the end of the week we went down to Islamorada in the Keys Thurs-Sat, now that was a blast....I want to move down there, I guess it's called Key's disease...lol
I need to get the pictures up to share so I can comment on them as usual I took hundreds, but aol has been giving me a problem with the upload so I will get to that some time.
Delilah stayed with my girlfriend for the 8 days and was a little pissy towards me when I got home, but now she is back to her old crazy self and only bites me once or twice a day....what a cute kitten.
Spring is in the air my friends it has been in the 40-50's this week, even though we have had snow for the past 2 weeks since we got back. I do not want to get all excited about spring because its going from 55 degree's Saturday back down to 19-25 degree's on Sunday. Blah I just want spring, and to come out of my cave. I will be catching up on my journals I know I have been lax.
To tell you the truth not much has really happened, I live such an exciting life. All is good which I am thankful for.
Here are a few more pics until I get the other's up. SPRING, SPRING, SPRING Hurry up and get here!!!!

We we where on Valentines evening.

Little lizard he was funny, him and his friend just hung out around the pool area

A great little diner we had breakfast in

Looking out the plane window seeing Florida below...woo hoo

OMG my favorite Walmart in the world, it has palm trees and is open 365 days a year 24 hours a day!!!! We were shopping at Walmart at 1 a.m. one nite!

The pool at Dave's Dad condo complex, where I spent my mornings till oneish getting my tan

A great store in the huge flea market with 500 vendors we went too (its really not cheap like a flea market)

more from the same place, the owner was so nice, I bought a few great bracelets here

Inside the Henry Flagler Museum in West Palm Beach It was unbelievable

It's Voting day
Hi it's voting day and as usual its raining and pouring out. It seems it always rains on Super Tuesday. Its like nite out...Blah! The forecast for the rest of the week is, rain, rain, snow, snow.....As long as my plane can take off I dont care!
Does anybody else watch Lost? I cannot wait for Thursday nite to see it, finally some good tv is back on. I usually watch American Idol but I am not watching the auditions this year, it makes it drag too much. Did anyone see Jordin Sparks sing the National anthem for the Super Bowl? I thought she looked pretty and did a good job.
I suppose I may start packing tonite I have a list so I dont forget anything. I am kind of anal when it comes to things like that I will make 2 lists in case I lose one and always worry I will forget something. Im going to try my hardest not to overpack this year.....I always do! Then I moan and complain when I can drag my overloaded suitcase around, and Dave tells me to stop overpacking. The boy could go away for a week with just a knapsack, I dont get it??? It must be a girl thing.
Well get out and Vote! And have a good Tuesday.

Waiting for the Superbowl, Tom Brady pictures and more crazy cat pics

GO PATRIOTS!!!!!
Now tell me these are not NICE pictures of Tom Brady:

Whew I may need to go take a cold shower....LOL Anyway I'm just sitting here its Sunday morning having some coffee and watching the demonic cat run around at 100+ MPH. Today is going to be so long!!! I cannot wait for the Super Bowl.
Tonite We will probably have Hot Wings, Taquitos and I'm not sure what else. I have to go to the grocery store in a while so I will see what's on sale. I don't want to buy too much stuff since we are going away in only 5 more days!!!! YEAH
Dave is bringing his work laptop so I will have Internet access and I will probably be posting pictures right from Florida. We are staying in Coconut Creek which is right above Ft. Lauderdale. I want to go to the Morikami Gardens again which is a beautiful Japanese museum and Garden you walk around it takes about 2 hours. I also want to go to Monkey Jungle in Miami, The Henry Flagler Museum and a few other places that I cannot remember the name too. What we usually do is I lay in the sun at the pool until around 1 pm or so that way Dave can sleep late, then we go on our adventures. We may do a nite or 2 down in the Keys that is really beautiful.
Here are the latest pics of the little monster, she is sitting on her daddies lap and then under the covers:

A Letter to Today's Kids From the Over 30's Crowd
A Letter To Todays Kids
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter …with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
There were no MP3's or Napster! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, and that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Play station videogames with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600, with games like 'Space Invaders' and' Asteroids'! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE! When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hats sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed! Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards! And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire...imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!
Regards,
The over 30 Crowd

I have a Peeping Cat
This is us at Miami Zoo 2 years ago.....want to go back!
Hi Everyone,
It's Tuesday only 8 1/2 working days left till vacation, and believe me I'm counting the hours! My pasty white body needs some SUN!Not much is new, not that it could be since its too cold to ever leave the house except to go to work and the grocery store. And take it from a New England when I say its cold it is...lol we think 35 degree's is warm. Those lying weather man can not predict the day before weather...all last week, snow was predicted and we got nothing! Then they called for a sunny weekend and we got a mini snow storm Sunday giving us another 3-4 inches with 50 mph plus winds....Nice (I'm being sarcastic if you couldn't tell).
Oh Well I wanted to let everyone now I have a peeping Tom for a cat or should I say a peeping Delilah. Her new thing now is to jump on the tub while you are showering she watches you through the shower curtain liner...It's a little creepy. Yesterday she fell in while I was taking a shower and jumped out giving me the evil kitty eye, like its my fault she fell in.
I have not done much other than staying in on the weekends and catching up on all the movies I have not watched on dvd. Ok here is the Tabby movie update: Into the blue with Jessica Alba-pleasantly surprised it was rather good which I was not expecting and the ocean scenes where beautiful (We have Blu-Ray Disc, the quality is awesome), Next with Nicholas Cage, another surpriser...get this movie its about a Vegas performer who can see 2 minutes into the future and the govt is after him to help him stop terrorist which he wants no part of, until he has to because they kidnap his girlfriend...3 thumbs up; Harts War- with Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell portrays a story in a POW camp during world war 2, I usually dont go for this kind of movie but another good one, Ok last review is for a movie called Eastern Promises- What a thriller, we where totally engrossed, some graphic moments (blood, russian mafia)but if you can get past that it was very very good.
Well I hope everyone enjoys their week!
Some pics of our last trip to Florida!

Monday's Noreaster, homina homina, gotta get out of this cold place!
Hidey Ho Everyone,
Well we had ourself a good old New England Noreaster Monday, see the pictures above. It was the heavy wet snow that stuck to everything, its now thursday and its still frozen to the trees and wires. This storm started early Monday morning, everything got closes, schools, business's but NO I still had to go to work! Now granted I only work 2 miles from my house it still would of been nicer to stay home. Dave got to stay home and he gave me a ride to work so the pictures are my driveway at home, then driving to work and then the back parking lot where I work where you can see how the snow was sticking to everything. It looks real pretty but we had a lot of claims I had 3 where trees came down on people's homes, Not Good! I had one family trapped in there house due to live electric wires, they had to wait all day for the electric co without, heat or electricity, I was able to help them out so that was a good feeling.
I am so ready for some nice weather, I need sun and warm weather...SO.....we just booked and paid for our trip to Florida in only 3 weeks !!! We where going to go to Hawaii but that was dependent on one of Dave's companies customers schedule....Need to get away now! So tonite we bought the tickets online and made the car reservation We will be gone 8 nites/9 days and then we have the following Monday off because its a holiday so that is sweet. I did not realize that week is the week before the Daytona 500, and there are hardly any rental cars available! All the big co's such as enterprize, hertz, budget etc where totally sold out. After doing some online work I found a smaller place its 7 miles from the airport but at least its 100 cheaper than the first quote I got.
I was really worried about what to do with my little Delilah but my friend Reggie from work has offered to take her in for the week so now I am happy, she likes her. I will miss her so much I will have to call and have Reggie hold the cell phone to her ear so I can say talk kitten baby talk to her....yeah Im mental I know....LOL
See how big she is getting, she is being cute and sweet here:

But I wont miss this:

This is what the little monsta does to me when Im typing on my keyboard.
Have a great Weekend!!!!

It's Friday! Time for some Football Fever
Happy Friday, another week has passed and instead of frigid cold it has been like spring. Today we are having downpours thunder and lightning and its 55 out. So much for our ozone layer. Not much new just another work week. My darling Delilah decided to run across my face this morning scratching my forehead. I paid 20 bucks for these things called soft paws, they are little rubber cat nail covers you fill with crazy glue and it keeps the cats from doing any damage. Now I read the vets sites and they are raved about how its humane and no declawing. But how the heck do I get them on the little monster??? She had a conniption when I tried to put a collar on her, literally she freaked out and for the rest of the day she chased me around attacking me. Do they sell kitty valium???? I have some really funny pics and videos I need to put up of her but of course Im at work so I dont havethem here.
Now for this weekend I cannot wait for the big Game as you know my Team The Patriots is undefeated I hope they win, but if not I willl take the perfect season. I dont know what else we will do probably just hang in and relax from the week.....the temps are suppose to dip back to a more normal 30 degree range. I need a vacation, now if things go right in a month we may be going to HAWAII!!! Dave has to go for work and they said I could go, I would just have to pay for my own airfair and we would pay for the extra days we stay....now it all has to fall into place (the customer hopefully will be willing to let Dave come out for the week of my vacation)keep your fingers crossed for me, it would be a trip of a lifetime.
Have a great one!
